Telenor Microfinance Bank Names Fintech Leader Jahanzeb Khan as New CEO

Telenor Microfinance Bank has appointed Jahanzeb Khan as its new CEO. Khan takes the helm today, bringing a wealth of experience in digital finance and a proven track record of leading innovation.

Khan boasts over two decades in the financial services sector, with a particular focus on digital banking and emerging technologies. He’s known for driving transformative initiatives in the payments space, having worked with some of the world’s most prominent financial institutions.

This isn’t Khan’s first stint with Telenor Microfinance Bank. He previously held leadership positions within the organization, including Group Executive Director and Chief Product Officer.  During this time, he likely played a key role in the development and growth of easypaisa, a platform credited with revolutionizing access to financial services in Pakistan.

Prior to rejoining Telenor Microfinance Bank, Khan served as CEO of FINCA Microfinance Bank Limited in Pakistan.  This experience honed his expertise in microfinance, a critical sector for promoting financial inclusion.

Khan’s educational background further bolsters his qualifications. He holds a BS in Electrical Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin and an MBA from the University of Delaware.  His commitment to continuous learning is evident by his participation in programs at prestigious institutions like Wharton (University of Pennsylvania) and Harvard Business School.

With Khan at the helm, Telenor Microfinance Bank is well-positioned to continue its leadership in digital financial services.  His expertise in both digital banking and microfinance positions him to leverage technology to expand financial inclusion in Pakistan and further empower easypaisa’s vast user base.
