ICMA International and Pakistan Mercantile Exchange Limited (PMEX) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aimed at strengthening collaboration in financial education, professional development, industry engagement and career opportunities. The partnership brings together the professional accounting body and Pakistan’s commodity futures exchange to create greater interaction between academia, professionals and the financial markets industry.
The MoU was signed by Aamir Ijaz Khan, FCMA, CMP, Executive Director of ICMA International, and Zaki Ur Rehman, Chief Business Officer of PMEX, in the presence of senior officials and representatives from both organisations. The agreement is intended to establish a framework for joint initiatives that can support knowledge development and greater awareness of financial markets among students and professionals.
Under the collaboration, ICMA International and PMEX will work together on financial education and awareness sessions, knowledge-sharing programmes, professional development activities, industry engagement and job placements. The partnership is also expected to create opportunities for students and professionals to gain greater exposure to Pakistan’s financial markets and understand the practical aspects of the industry.
The initiative highlights the role of collaboration between professional institutions and financial market organisations in developing industry-ready talent. Through joint activities and greater interaction between academia and the financial sector, ICMA International and PMEX aim to provide students and professionals with additional opportunities to develop relevant knowledge, skills and career pathways within Pakistan’s financial markets.
