BankIslami Launches Tez Raftar Digital Consumer Financing Origination System

BankIslami has launched Tez Raftar, a fully in-house developed Consumer Financing Origination System designed to provide customers with an end-to-end digital financing journey. The new platform is part of the bank’s ongoing digital transformation efforts and introduces technology-driven processes aimed at making consumer financing faster, more efficient, and data-driven.

Tez Raftar has been developed internally by BankIslami to support the consumer financing process through a digitally integrated platform. The system is designed to cover the financing journey from assessment through credit decisioning, reducing reliance on manual processes and bringing multiple evaluation functions into a single digital environment. The launch represents a technology-focused step in the bank’s efforts to modernize its consumer financing operations.

A key feature of the platform is its automated Debt Burden Ratio (DBR) assessment. DBR assessment is an important component of consumer financing because it helps determine a customer’s existing financial obligations in relation to income and supports the evaluation of repayment capacity. By incorporating automated DBR assessment into Tez Raftar, BankIslami aims to streamline this part of the financing evaluation process and enable financing applications to be assessed more efficiently.

The platform also incorporates AI-powered income calculation, adding an artificial intelligence component to the assessment of customer financial information. The use of AI in income calculation is intended to support faster processing and provide a data-driven approach to evaluating customer income during the financing journey. This feature forms part of the broader technology framework introduced through Tez Raftar.

Another component of the system is an intelligent scorecard-based credit decisioning framework. The scorecard approach is designed to support the evaluation of financing applications using defined data and assessment parameters. By combining automated assessment capabilities with scorecard-based decisioning, the platform is intended to help BankIslami make financing decisions in a more structured and efficient manner.

The launch of Tez Raftar comes as financial institutions in Pakistan continue to expand the use of digital platforms across banking and financing services. Consumer financing involves multiple stages of customer assessment, documentation, eligibility evaluation, and credit decisioning, making it an area where automation and data-driven technologies can play an important operational role. BankIslami’s new platform brings several of these functions together as part of a single digital financing journey.

BankIslami described the launch as an important milestone in its digital transformation journey, reflecting its focus on innovation, customer convenience, and operational excellence. The in-house development of the system also highlights the bank’s approach toward building technology capabilities specifically around its financing processes and customer requirements.

The bank expects the initiative to support the further development of its consumer financing business by improving the speed and efficiency of financing decisions. Through automated DBR assessment, AI-powered income calculation, and scorecard-based credit decisioning, Tez Raftar provides a technology-based framework for handling key stages of the consumer financing origination process.

The platform is also positioned as a step toward creating additional value for BankIslami’s customers and stakeholders. By moving the consumer financing journey into a digitally enabled environment, the bank aims to improve customer convenience while strengthening the efficiency of its internal financing operations.

The successful launch involved teams across BankIslami that contributed to the development and implementation of the platform. The initiative demonstrates how banks are increasingly incorporating automation, artificial intelligence, and data-driven credit assessment into their digital banking strategies, with consumer financing emerging as an important area for technology-led process improvements.
