1LINK has held discussions with Unified Payments Interface (UPI) representatives to explore opportunities for deeper collaboration in digital and real-time payments. Mr. Asad Burney, Director Payments & Business Development, Middle East Branch at UPI, visited 1LINK’s headquarters and met with 1LINK CEO Najeeb Agrawalla as both organizations discussed potential areas of cooperation within the evolving payments ecosystem.
The meeting focused on digital and real-time payment capabilities, with discussions covering opportunities for technical cooperation and closer integration between the two payment networks. The engagement reflects growing interest in developing payment infrastructure that can support faster and more connected transaction experiences while creating opportunities for financial institutions and businesses to adopt integrated digital payment solutions.
The meeting was also attended by Nadeem Haroon, Country Head Pakistan at UPI, Hasan Shahid, Head of Schemes at 1LINK, and Muhammad Shahzeb, Head Banking Solutions at 1LINK. Their participation highlights the technical and business dimensions of the discussions, particularly around payment schemes, banking solutions and potential product integration.
The engagement between 1LINK and UPI could open avenues for further cooperation in real-time payments and payment technology. With both sides exploring technical collaboration and product integration, the discussions mark another step toward developing more connected digital payment capabilities.
