EBANX Plans Pakistan Entry with JazzCash, Easypaisa and Raast Payment Integrations

Global payments technology company EBANX is preparing to launch its payment operations in Pakistan, adding the country to its expansion roadmap as it targets emerging digital commerce markets. The company announced the planned expansion at its annual Payments Summit, stating that Pakistan has been added to its operations portfolio for the next semester. EBANX plans to initially offer local alternative payment methods through JazzCash and Easypaisa, with integration of Raast, Pakistan’s national instant-payment system, expected to follow. The company said its decision to enter Pakistan is linked to merchant demand and the country’s mobile-first payment environment, where digital wallets, bank transfers and account-based payment methods play an important role in online transactions. According to EBANX, both JazzCash and Easypaisa report more than 50 million users, giving the company access to established local payment networks as it develops its Pakistan operations. The planned entry follows EBANX’s expansion into Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia, Vietnam and Türkiye earlier in 2026.

The company’s Pakistan strategy is focused on connecting international merchants with locally preferred payment methods. EBANX said Pakistan’s e-commerce spending is projected to grow at an average annual rate of 22% between 2026 and 2030, based on World Data Lab data analyzed by the company. The payments provider also pointed to the gap between smartphone and card ownership in Pakistan, arguing that digital wallets, bank transfers and local account-based payment methods can be particularly relevant for consumers who do not regularly use cards for online purchases. The company expects its local payment infrastructure to help global businesses accept payments from Pakistani consumers through methods they already use. EBANX operates a global payment network with more than 400 payment rails and over 200 payment methods, and says it processes more than four million transactions each day. Its planned Pakistan operations would therefore add another market where local payment integration is intended to connect international merchants with consumers through domestic financial infrastructure.

Raast is expected to become another component of EBANX’s Pakistan payment offering after the initial wallet integrations. The company cited State Bank of Pakistan data showing that Raast transaction volume increased from 371.2 million transactions in the third quarter of FY2025 to 742.1 million in the corresponding quarter of FY2026. Raast provides an instant-payment infrastructure that enables transfers between participating financial institutions and other connected entities, making it increasingly relevant to Pakistan’s digital payments ecosystem. By planning an integration with Raast after launching JazzCash and Easypaisa support, EBANX intends to broaden the range of local payment options available to merchants using its platform. The planned rollout also reflects a wider shift in international e-commerce payments, where global businesses increasingly need access to local wallets, bank-transfer systems and domestic payment rails instead of relying solely on international card networks. EBANX said its role is to bridge local payment infrastructure with the requirements of global merchants operating in emerging markets.

Alongside its Pakistan expansion, EBANX has announced a new payment technology for Apple Pay across Latin America and the Caribbean. Starting in September, the company is moving the decryption of encrypted Apple Pay tokens into its own infrastructure, allowing EBANX to manage certificates, security keys and PCI DSS compliance rather than requiring individual merchants to handle the decryption process. The company said early production data showed tokenized wallet transactions achieving a 94.4% approval rate, representing an 11-percentage-point increase compared with non-tokenized card transactions, while average order value was 23.5% higher. These figures were reported by EBANX based on its own production data. The Apple Pay development is separate from the planned Pakistan launch, but both announcements reflect the company’s broader focus on payment infrastructure for digital commerce. In Pakistan, the immediate focus will be establishing local payment connectivity through JazzCash and Easypaisa, followed by Raast, as EBANX prepares to support international merchants seeking access to the country’s growing digital consumer market.
