NIBAF Pakistan Conducts Islamic Banking And Financial Literacy Session

The National Institute of Banking and Finance Pakistan (NIBAF) conducted a one-day face-to-face training session on Islamic Banking and Financial Literacy for the Civil Services Academy in Lahore on July 29, 2026. The session was organised at the Civil Services Academy as part of NIBAF’s ongoing efforts to collaborate with key public sector institutions and provide participants with relevant knowledge about banking and financial matters. The programme focused on improving understanding of Islamic banking concepts and broader financial literacy among officials associated with the national administrative institution.

The training featured multiple sessions covering areas related to Islamic banking and financial literacy, with experienced facilitators leading the programme. Mufti Irshad Ahmad Ejaz conducted the first and second sessions, while Salman Shehzad facilitated the third session. The participation of professionals with relevant expertise provided attendees with an opportunity to gain a broader understanding of Islamic banking principles, financial practices and concepts associated with Shariah-compliant financial services. The programme was conducted in a face-to-face format, allowing participants to engage directly with the facilitators throughout the one-day session.

NIBAF’s engagement with the Civil Services Academy forms part of its broader capacity-building activities aimed at sharing financial knowledge with professionals and public sector institutions. By conducting specialised training sessions, the institute works with organisations across the country to develop greater awareness of banking and financial concepts that can contribute to informed decision-making. The Islamic Banking and Financial Literacy session also provided a platform for participants to explore topics relevant to Pakistan’s financial system and the growing role of Islamic finance within the country’s banking sector.

The initiative also highlights the importance of financial literacy and Shariah governance in developing a better understanding of financial services among public sector stakeholders. Islamic banking continues to represent an important segment of Pakistan’s financial sector, while financial literacy remains relevant to improving awareness of financial products, services and responsible financial decision-making. NIBAF’s training programmes provide an avenue for professionals to gain structured knowledge in these areas while connecting financial education with their respective institutional responsibilities.

NIBAF said it remains committed to partnering with premier national administrative institutions to build capacity and share critical financial knowledge with key public sector decision-makers. The institute’s latest session at the Civil Services Academy reflects this approach, bringing together banking expertise and public sector training in a focused programme on Islamic finance and financial literacy. Such initiatives can contribute to greater awareness of banking practices, Shariah principles and financial concepts among officials while supporting continued professional development within public institutions.
