Pakistan’s LEAP 2024 Presence Signals Tech Ties Boost with Saudi Arabia

Pakistan’s robust representation at LEAP 2024 in Riyadh underscores the burgeoning potential for enhanced collaboration between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia in the technology sector.

LEAP, a premier tech event known for bringing together global tech leaders, industry experts, and innovators, serves as a dynamic platform for fostering partnerships, exploring innovations, and engaging with influential mentors and investors.

With LEAP 2024 building upon the success of previous years, where it generated over $9 billion in business and attracted over 172,000 attendees, Pakistan’s participation stands out prominently. The Pakistani contingent, comprising 74 companies and over 800 delegates, showcases the country’s burgeoning tech industry and its promising prospects in the Saudi market.

Spanning across a 162-square-meter pavilion, Pakistani companies at LEAP are presenting a wide array of solutions encompassing AI, IoT, blockchain, cybersecurity, cloud solutions, health tech, fintech, web and mobile app development, e-commerce, and more.

To set the stage for LEAP, the Pakistan Software Export Board (PSEB) and Pakistan Software Houses Association (P@SHA), in collaboration with the Pakistan Embassy in Riyadh and other stakeholders, organized the “Saudi-Pak Tech Forum” on March 3, 2024. The event, graced by Secretary General DCO Deemah Alyahya as the Chief Guest, facilitated networking opportunities between Pakistani and Saudi companies, government institutions, and IT associations.

Pakistan views its increased IT exports to Saudi Arabia as a strategic opportunity to showcase its tech prowess on the global stage, particularly amidst Saudi Arabia’s transformative Vision 2030 initiative. As the largest economy in the Middle East and a key player in the tech industry, Saudi Arabia presents lucrative opportunities for Pakistani IT companies.

Pakistan’s own IT industry has witnessed remarkable growth, ranking among the country’s top five export sectors. Supported by a robust infrastructure and favorable government policies, including incentives for foreign investors, Pakistan offers an attractive destination for IT businesses.

With its strategic location serving as a gateway to Central Asia and beyond, coupled with advanced connectivity and a skilled workforce, Pakistan emerges as an optimal choice for establishing digital corridors and expanding tech businesses globally.

With approximately 75,000 IT graduates annually and competitive operational costs, Pakistan stands out as a financially attractive destination for outsourcing, further bolstering its appeal to international investors.

As Pakistan reinforces its presence at LEAP 2024, it reaffirms its commitment to embracing technological advancements and fostering international partnerships. The collaboration between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia at events like LEAP not only strengthens bilateral ties but also paves the way for mutual prosperity in the ever-evolving tech landscape.
