Mobilink Bank and JazzCash Expand Financial Inclusion via Key BISP and Karandaaz Partnerships

In a major push towards bolstering economic empowerment and driving financial inclusion across Pakistan, leading digital financial institutions Mobilink Bank and JazzCash have highlighted significant new milestones achieved through cross-sector collaboration. These strategic initiatives are designed to bypass traditional banking barriers by leveraging digital technology to deliver essential financial tools, secure distribution networks, and targeted literacy programs to the country’s most underserved demographics, particularly low-income households and rural women.

A central element of this expanding ecosystem is a landmark interoperable model developed in collaboration with the Benazir Income Support Programme and 1LINK Private Limited. Once fully deployed, this advanced framework will fundamentally transform the disbursement process for millions of state welfare recipients. The system will enable BISP beneficiaries to seamlessly withdraw their vital stipends across the extensive nationwide agent network of JazzCash, completely independent of whichever specific bank they hold an account with. This open framework represents a significant structural upgrade in making essential public financial services more accessible, highly convenient, and inherently dignified for vulnerable communities.

Simultaneously, Mobilink Bank has entered into a strategic two-year partnership with Karandaaz Pakistan to launch a dedicated program called AgriFin for Her. Recognizing that women constitute approximately 68 percent of Pakistan’s total agricultural workforce yet remain largely excluded from formal banking architectures, this program actively seeks to rectify the gender gap. The primary objective of the initiative is to bring 50,000 women directly into the formal financial system using the core banking platform of Mobilink Bank alongside its specialized DOST application. This digital onboarding will be heavily reinforced by structured financial and digital literacy training tracks, paired with customizable savings products designed to match the economic cycles of rural female farmers.

These dual initiatives underscore a broader shift within the domestic financial landscape away from simple digital transactions toward long-term, sustainable economic impact. Rather than focusing purely on payment processing volume, the combined infrastructure of these institutions aims to create stable pathways for livelihood development and long-term financial security. By combining the vast digital transactional reach of mobile wallets with institutional banking mechanisms, the programs establish a comprehensive financial safety net and developmental toolset for previously unbanked populations.

The scalable foundation supporting these initiatives is a massive physical and digital footprint that spans both microfinance banking and mobile wallet operations. With more than 1.5 million Raast QR-enabled merchants and agents deployed collectively across the networks of Mobilink Bank and JazzCash, the organizations have constructed an extensive, nationwide merchant network. This combined infrastructure allows rural, agricultural, and low-income users to interact seamlessly with the formal economy at a hyper-local level. Supported by policy frameworks from the State Bank of Pakistan, this integration between public welfare mandates and private sector digital execution showcases how coordinated digital transformation can systematically empower the most marginalized segments of society.
