JazzCash Opens AI Foundry And Usability Testing Lab In Islamabad Headquarters

JazzCash has launched an AI Foundry and a dedicated usability testing lab at its Islamabad headquarters, introducing new in-house capabilities for artificial intelligence experimentation, customer research and financial product development. The facility was inaugurated by VEON Group CEO Kaan Terzioglu alongside Ahmet Kayhan, Chief Payments and Digital Assets Officer at VEON, Aamir Ibrahim, CEO of JazzWorld and Chairman of JazzCash, Murtaza Ali, CEO of JazzCash, and Haaris Mahmood Chaudhary, CEO of Mobilink Bank. The launch comes as JazzCash marks ten years since its consumer app first went live, making the new facility part of the platform’s next phase of development in Pakistan’s digital financial services sector.

The new facility brings together artificial intelligence tools, customer research capabilities and rapid prototyping resources under one roof, allowing JazzCash teams to evaluate how customers interact with financial products and services before introducing or expanding them. Through usability testing and direct customer research, teams can gain a better understanding of how users navigate digital financial services, where they face difficulties and which features are most relevant to their everyday needs. The AI Foundry can also provide a dedicated environment for teams to experiment with artificial intelligence applications and explore how emerging technologies can be incorporated into financial products and internal processes.

According to the company, the broader objective is to develop simpler and more relevant financial tools that can help customers manage their day-to-day financial lives. The combination of AI experimentation and usability testing allows product teams to work through different stages of development within a more integrated environment. Instead of relying primarily on assumptions about customer behavior, teams can use research and testing to identify potential issues and refine features based on user feedback. Rapid prototyping can further allow new concepts to be developed and tested at an early stage, potentially reducing the time required to move ideas from development to customer-facing products.

The launch also coincides with the tenth anniversary of the JazzCash consumer application, marking a decade of operations in Pakistan’s mobile financial services market. During this period, digital financial services have continued to evolve as consumers increasingly use mobile applications for payments, transfers and other financial activities. JazzCash’s decision to establish dedicated infrastructure for AI research and usability testing indicates a focus on using technology and customer insights to guide its product development strategy as the platform moves into its next stage. Company officials have indicated that the facility will help shape how the organization approaches product design, with an emphasis on creating financial experiences that are easier to understand, simpler to use and accessible to a wider customer base.

By establishing dedicated space for artificial intelligence experimentation and usability testing, JazzCash is also investing in capabilities that allow its teams to conduct research and product validation internally. This can support faster iteration by enabling developers, product teams and researchers to work more closely together and incorporate customer feedback during the development process. For a financial platform operating at significant scale, understanding user behavior can be particularly important when introducing new features, as differences in digital familiarity and financial needs can affect how customers interact with an application.

As digital payment adoption continues to expand across Pakistan, the launch of the AI Foundry and usability testing lab signals JazzCash’s intention to increase its use of artificial intelligence, data and user research in shaping future services. The initiative builds on the platform’s decade-long presence in the country’s mobile financial services sector while creating additional infrastructure for experimentation and customer-focused product development. The facility could allow JazzCash to test new concepts more efficiently, identify usability challenges earlier and develop financial services that are more closely aligned with the needs and behaviors of its customers.
