Easypaisa Digital Bank Reports PKR 13.30 Billion Profit Before Tax As Revenue And Customer Deposits Rise

easypaisa Digital Bank has reported a profit before tax (PBT) of PKR 13.30 billion for the nine months ended September 30, 2026, representing a 2.35-fold increase compared with the corresponding period last year. The bank’s Board of Directors approved the financial statements for the reporting period, which also showed a profit after tax (PAT) of PKR 7.41 billion and earnings per share (EPS) of PKR 12.31. Total revenue increased by 38.53% year-on-year to PKR 46.67 billion, reflecting growth across lending, treasury and fee-based income streams. The results indicate continued expansion in the bank’s financial activities as it develops its digital banking operations beyond everyday payments and money transfers. Growth in customer deposits and transaction-related income also contributed to the overall performance during the first nine months of the year.

Net markup income increased by 37% during the period, supported by expansion in the lending portfolio and treasury investments, alongside growth in customer deposits. Fee-based income recorded a 40.63% increase, driven by higher revenue from payment services, including online payments, disbursements, collections and insurance products. The bank said its performance was supported by an expanding customer base, higher transaction volumes and continued investment in customer acquisition, talent, technology and digital innovation. Non-markup expenses reached PKR 32.80 billion, reflecting spending on customer engagement, merchant penetration and risk-sharing costs associated with higher digital lending volumes. The cost-to-income ratio stood at 70.27%. These figures show that while revenue and earnings increased, the bank also continued to incur significant operating costs as it expanded its services and customer reach.

Customer deposits grew by 59.06% year-on-year to PKR 174.39 billion as of September 30, 2026. The bank maintained a current and savings account (CASA) ratio of 96.99%, with current accounts representing 79% of its deposit mix. Net advances reached PKR 31.65 billion, resulting in an advances-to-deposit ratio of 18.15%. Asset quality indicators included non-performing loans equivalent to 2.91% of gross advances and a coverage ratio of 165.07%. The bank’s capital adequacy ratio stood at 27.54%, above the applicable regulatory requirement. Earlier in July 2026, the Pakistan Credit Rating Agency upgraded easypaisa’s long-term entity rating to AA- while maintaining its short-term rating at A1. The bank also reported more than 60 million registered users, reflecting the scale of its customer network and the potential reach of its expanding digital financial services.

Commenting on the results, President and CEO Jahanzeb Khan said the performance demonstrated that the bank’s growth was translating into financial results, supported by rising deposits and greater adoption of digital services. He said the bank’s focus would include expanding customer relationships through lending, savings, remittances and Islamic banking, while continuing to contribute to financial inclusion and Pakistan’s digital economy. easypaisa also identified foreign exchange, Islamic banking, credit cards and remittance services as areas for further development. The bank’s broader strategy reflects an effort to diversify its income sources and serve customers through a wider range of digital financial products. With revenue, deposits and lending activity recording growth during the nine-month period, its next phase will involve managing expansion while maintaining asset quality, capital strength and operational performance. The results provide an update on the bank’s financial position as digital banking continues to develop in Pakistan.
