Premier PayFast has signed a memorandum of understanding with AshreiTech Academy aimed at creating opportunities for students through industry exposure, internships, and professional development programs. The partnership is intended to connect students with practical, industry-facing experience that complements their academic coursework, giving them a route into hands-on learning within the fintech and payments space before they enter the job market.
Under the agreement, students associated with AshreiTech Academy will have access to opportunities that bridge classroom learning with real-world industry experience, an approach both organizations described as central to preparing the next generation of talent for the workforce. The collaboration is expected to include structured internship placements as well as other professional development activities designed to expose students to the day-to-day operations of a payments and fintech company, giving them exposure to areas that are not always covered in a typical academic setting.
The MOU was announced with representatives from both sides involved in the collaboration, including Mavish Dilawar, Mufarrah Malik, and Azmir Agha, who were named in connection with the partnership. Premier PayFast framed the agreement as part of its broader commitment to supporting talent development in Pakistan’s technology and financial services sectors, an area where companies have increasingly looked to formal academic partnerships as a way of building a pipeline of trained professionals suited to specific industry needs. AshreiTech Academy, for its part, positioned the collaboration as a way to give its students a clearer path from education into employment, particularly within the fast-growing digital and fintech sectors.
No specific figures were shared on the number of students expected to benefit from the partnership, the timeline for launching the internship program, or additional details on how the collaboration will be structured going forward. Both organizations indicated the MOU marks the beginning of an ongoing relationship, with further initiatives expected to follow as the partnership develops and as more details on specific programs and opportunities are finalized in the coming months.
