Faysal Bank Reaffirms LUMS Partnership to Boost National Outreach Programme and Higher Education

Faysal Bank Limited has reaffirmed its longstanding strategic partnership with the Lahore University of Management Sciences to expand equitable access to higher education and foster development opportunities for talented students across Pakistan. Demonstrating this continued institutional commitment, a senior delegation from Faysal Bank, led by Chairman of the Board of Directors Mian Muhammad Younis, visited the university campus. The executive group included Director Hafiz Mohammad Yousaf, President and Chief Executive Officer Yousaf Hussain, alongside key leadership representatives, who engaged in high-level discussions with Founding Pro Chancellor Syed Babar Ali to align on shared socio-economic development goals.

During the official visit, Faysal Bank leadership formally presented a contribution check to the university management in direct support of the prestigious National Outreach Programme at LUMS. The initiative is designed to identify and onboard high-achieving students from socio-economically disadvantaged regions nationwide, providing them with full financial aid to pursue higher education. To honor the financial institution ongoing philanthropic support and commitment to academic empowerment, the event also featured the unveiling of a commemorative plaque designating an auditorium within the university main academic block in recognition of the bank contributions.

Addressing the assembly, Faysal Bank Chairman Mian Muhammad Younis emphasized that the partnership with LUMS reflects a common conviction that genuine national progress is defined by the broader social impact created for communities. He noted that the transition of the institution into a fully Islamic banking entity was guided by these same foundational principles. Younis highlighted that through the dedicated Faysal Islami Scholars Programme, the bank remains committed to ensuring that financial constraints never prevent deserving youth from accessing top-tier academic training, expressing hope that the collaboration continues to generate long-term benefits for the country.

Reiterating the core strategy behind the academic investment, Faysal Bank President and Chief Executive Officer Yousaf Hussain stated that empowering individuals through education represents the most impactful long-term investment a financial institution can make. Hussain highlighted that supporting higher education serves as a cornerstone for building a stronger, more inclusive national economy. He expressed pride in backing the upcoming generation of business and finance professionals who demonstrate both technical competence and ethical leadership standards within the expanding financial sector.

Expressing gratitude on behalf of the university, Founding Pro Chancellor Syed Babar Ali commended Faysal Bank for its sustained commitment to educational advancement. He remarked that meaningful philanthropy relies on creating sustainable platforms that yield continuous societal benefits over generations, describing the bank investment in youth education as a vital contribution to the future prosperity of Pakistan. Through collaborative academic partnerships and funded scholarship programs, Faysal Bank continues to align its corporate social responsibilities with national human capital development initiatives.
