EFU Hemayah Takaful Partners With IU CEIF On Islamic FinTech

EFU Hemayah Takaful has signed a memorandum of understanding with the IU Centre for Excellence in Islamic FinTech (IU-CEIF) at Iqra University, aimed at deepening ties between industry and academia in the fields of Islamic finance, Takaful, and Islamic financial technology. The agreement is intended to connect academic research with practical industry experience and support the development of specialized knowledge in these areas.

Through the partnership, EFU Hemayah Takaful and IU CEIF plan to work jointly on initiatives designed to build greater understanding of Takaful and Islamic financial planning, while contributing to broader capacity building within the sector. The collaboration is expected to bring together academic expertise and real-world industry practice to address gaps in knowledge and skills related to Islamic financial products and services.

The MoU was signed by Azeem Pirani, Chief Operations Officer and Executive Director at EFU Life, and M. Farhan-ul-Haq Usmani, Director at IU CEIF. The signing ceremony was also attended by Dr Zaki Rashidi, Campus Director at Iqra University, and Dr Ameenullah Aman, Deputy Director at IU CEIF, along with representatives from EFU Life’s marketing team, including Aman Hussain and Hammad Khan.

Officials described the initiative as a step toward building stronger links between the Takaful industry and academic institutions, with the aim of supporting the continued growth of Islamic finance and fintech in Pakistan. The partnership adds to a growing set of collaborations between insurance providers and universities focused on advancing specialized financial education in the country.

As Islamic finance and Takaful continue to expand across Pakistan’s financial services sector, partnerships of this kind are seen as a way to prepare a pipeline of professionals equipped with both theoretical and applied knowledge, while also encouraging further research and development within the Islamic FinTech space.
