CFA Society Pakistan Hosts AI Investing Speaker Series in Karachi

CFA Society Pakistan, in collaboration with Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), is set to host an exclusive speaker series focused on the growing influence of artificial intelligence on global investment markets. Titled “Investing in the Age of AI – How Global Investors Are Navigating the Rise of AI,” the session will examine how investors are responding to the rapid development and adoption of artificial intelligence and what its growing presence could mean for investment strategies and financial markets. The event is scheduled to take place on August 19, 2026, in Karachi, with the session beginning at 5:00 PM Pakistan Standard Time. The discussion will bring together professionals from investment management and financial regulation to explore the changing relationship between technology and investment decision-making.

The speaker for the session will be Mubashira Bukhari Khwaja, CFA, Investment Director at Aberdeen in the UK. With her professional experience in global investment management, she is expected to provide insights into how investors are assessing the opportunities and challenges emerging from the rapid growth of AI. The discussion will focus on the broader investment implications of artificial intelligence, including how global investors are considering the technology’s impact on companies, industries and markets. As AI continues to influence business models, productivity, technology spending and corporate strategies, investors are increasingly required to assess both the potential opportunities and risks associated with its expansion.

The session will be moderated by Ali Farid Khwaja, CFA, Commissioner at the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP). His participation brings a regulatory and capital markets perspective to the discussion, complementing the investment expertise of the keynote speaker. The involvement of a senior regulatory representative also provides an opportunity to examine AI from the perspective of financial markets and investment practices. As artificial intelligence becomes more relevant to businesses and financial institutions, discussions around technology adoption, market implications, investor decision-making and responsible use are becoming increasingly important for the financial sector.

The speaker series comes as artificial intelligence continues to move beyond its traditional technology-focused applications and increasingly influences sectors across the global economy. For investors, the expansion of AI has introduced new considerations around technology companies, emerging business models, productivity gains, infrastructure requirements and the competitive position of companies adopting AI. At the same time, investors must consider the potential risks associated with rapidly changing technologies, evolving market expectations and the sustainability of AI-related growth. A discussion focused on these developments can provide market professionals with an opportunity to consider how global investment strategies are adapting to the changing technological environment.

The event is scheduled for August 19 at 5:00 PM in Karachi, while the registration deadline has been set for August 17, 2026. CFA Society Pakistan members have been requested to check their email for the registration link and additional participation details. Through its collaboration with PSX, the speaker series provides a platform for investment professionals and members to engage with developments at the intersection of artificial intelligence and financial markets. The event is expected to offer perspectives on how global investors are approaching the rise of AI and how the technology could continue to influence investment thinking, market opportunities and financial decision-making.
