Mobilink Bank Appoints Shahbaz Khan as Stream Head HSSE to Strengthen Safety, Security and Business Continuity

Mobilink Bank has announced the appointment of Shahbaz Khan as Stream Head for Health, Safety, Security and Environment, commonly referred to as HSSE. The Bank welcomed him to the organisation and expressed confidence that his arrival would add considerable strength to its leadership in an area that continues to grow in importance for financial institutions. The announcement was shared as part of the Bank’s recognition of the professional depth that Mr Khan brings to the position.

Mr Khan joins with more than two decades of experience spanning enterprise security, HSSE, crisis management, business continuity and regulatory engagement. According to the Bank, this background equips him with strong expertise in managing complex operations and strengthening organisational resilience. His professional credentials include recognised certifications such as Physical Security Professional and Project Management Professional, which reflect a combination of technical security knowledge and structured management discipline. Taken together, his years of work across these related fields place him in a strong position to take responsibility for a function that touches nearly every part of a modern banking operation.

In his new role, Mr Khan will lead efforts to further strengthen safety, security and business continuity across the Bank. The mandate is broad, covering the protection of people, premises and operations, as well as the ability of the institution to continue serving its customers during periods of disruption. Alongside these operational responsibilities, he will also support a culture of preparedness and operational excellence within the Bank. This emphasis on culture is significant, because effective safety and security arrangements depend not only on policies and systems but also on the awareness and conduct of employees at every level of the organisation.

The appointment reflects a wider reality in the banking and financial services sector, where institutions are expected to maintain high standards of safety, security and continuity while operating in an environment of rising customer expectations and close regulatory attention. Functions that deal with crisis management and business continuity have moved from the background to the centre of institutional planning, since any interruption to services can affect public confidence. Regulatory engagement is another area in which experience carries real value, as banks must demonstrate that their controls and preparedness measures meet the standards set by supervisory authorities. A leader with long exposure to these demands can help an institution anticipate challenges rather than simply respond to them.

The Bank extended its best wishes to Mr Khan for success in his new role and said it looks forward to his contribution to Mobilink Bank. With his extensive experience and a clear mandate to reinforce safety, security and business continuity, his arrival is expected to support the institution in its continued focus on resilience and operational excellence. The move also signals the importance the Bank attaches to building a prepared and dependable organisation, one that is equipped to protect its people, its operations and the trust of those it serves.
