In a recent partnership signed between Proparco, Karandaaz Pakistan, and Parwaaz Financial Services Ltd committed to enhancing financial inclusion for women-led businesses and early-stage green technology ventures in Pakistan. The collaboration aims to address the financial needs of underserved market segments, particularly those deemed less creditworthy.
The French Embassy has expressed its support for this initiative, which aligns with France’s commitment to sustainable economic development and gender equality. Proparco’s contribution includes providing a credit risk guarantee to bolster Karandaaz’s Women Ventures and GreenFin Innovations programs, scaling up financial access for women entrepreneurs and green-tech startups.
A panel discussion on “The Role of Finance and Supporting Mechanisms to Strengthen the Market for Gender and Climate Finance” was held as part of the partnership launch, highlighting challenges and opportunities in financing gender and climate initiatives.
The agreement was signed by representatives from Proparco, Karandaaz, and Parwaaz Financial Services Ltd, marking a significant step towards creating a robust ecosystem that supports the growth of women-led businesses and green technologies, contributing to a more inclusive and sustainable Pakistan.
