Pakistan Fintech AdalFi Plans November IPO As Digital Lending Business Expands Across Banking And SME Finance

Pakistani financial technology company AdalFi is planning to launch an initial public offering (IPO) next month, according to a report published by Bloomberg on October 30. The proposed offering could mark a significant development for Pakistan’s fintech sector, where technology companies are increasingly exploring opportunities to expand their operations and access capital. AdalFi, headquartered in Lahore, provides digital lending and credit assessment technology to banks and other financial institutions. Its business focuses on using customers’ bank account and cash-flow information to help lenders assess creditworthiness, particularly among individuals and small businesses with limited or no conventional credit histories. While the Bloomberg report signals the company’s intention to pursue a public offering in November, detailed information about the proposed listing, including its size, valuation, share structure, target exchange and expected proceeds, has not been established in the information currently available.

Founded in 2021, AdalFi develops artificial intelligence-driven credit models and digital lending journeys that allow financial institutions to evaluate applicants using their banking transaction data. Rather than relying exclusively on traditional credit histories, its technology analyses cash flows and account activity to provide lenders with additional information when making financing decisions. The company’s platform is designed to support faster credit assessments and digital loan disbursements for consumer and small and medium-sized enterprise (SME) customers. This approach targets a segment of Pakistan’s financial market where many individuals and businesses maintain bank accounts but have limited access to formal borrowing. By providing lenders with alternative methods of assessing applicants, AdalFi seeks to help financial institutions identify potential borrowers while managing lending risks. Its technology is positioned as infrastructure for banks and lenders rather than a conventional consumer-facing digital wallet or standalone banking service.

The company has also reported expansion in the volume of financing facilitated through its partner institutions. According to its recently published 2021–2026 impact report, AdalFi has enabled more than PKR 110 billion in credit through partner banks between July 2021 and July 2026. The company says this activity has helped 68,760 people enter the formal credit system for the first time, while its lending network has reached 990 towns. Its report also identifies SME financing as a major part of its operations, with PKR 42 billion in credit enabled for small businesses. AdalFi further reports a 0.2% rate for loans overdue by more than 90 days across the lending book covered by its figures. These are company-reported metrics and provide an indication of the scale it says its lending technology has reached. The figures also illustrate the business model behind its planned IPO, which could give the company an opportunity to pursue its next stage of growth.

A potential public offering would place AdalFi among the Pakistani fintech businesses seeking to develop beyond private funding and establish a presence in the country’s capital market. The company’s technology-led approach to credit assessment addresses an important financing challenge for banks, particularly in reaching borrowers who may not qualify under conventional lending criteria. Its reported expansion across consumer and SME financing also reflects the growing role of data-driven tools in financial services. However, the proposed IPO remains subject to further details, including the formal offering structure, regulatory process and timetable. Investors will need to review the relevant prospectus and official disclosures once they become available before assessing the opportunity. For Pakistan’s wider fintech industry, the proposed listing could attract further attention to technology businesses operating in digital lending, financial inclusion and credit infrastructure.
