PayPak Recognises Bank Of Khyber With Gold Rewards Under Win Gold With PayPak Campaign

1LINK has visited the Bank of Khyber (BoK) to present gold rewards under the Special Category of its Win Gold with PayPak 2025 campaign. The recognition highlights the collaboration between the domestic payment card scheme and the bank as they continue efforts to expand PayPak usage across Pakistan. The ceremony was attended by Rashid Zaman Khan, Chief Information Officer and Group Head of Digital Banking (Acting) at Bank of Khyber; Bashir Khan, Chief Merchants, Schemes and Alliances at 1LINK; and Syed Ijlal Hussain Shah, Department Head of Digital Banking at Bank of Khyber, alongside their respective teams.

The Win Gold with PayPak campaign was designed to promote the use of PayPak, Pakistan’s domestic payment card scheme, and encourage greater participation in electronic payments. Under the campaign’s Special Category, Bank of Khyber received gold rewards presented by the 1LINK team. While the announcement did not disclose the specific criteria for the award, the recognition underscores the organisations’ shared interest in expanding the reach of domestic card payments. Campaigns offering incentives can encourage customers to use eligible payment instruments, although their longer-term effect depends on customer participation, merchant acceptance and the convenience of card-based transactions.

PayPak operates under 1LINK and provides a domestic card payment option for participating banks and their customers. Its role in Pakistan’s payments ecosystem includes supporting card-based transactions through the local payment network. Greater adoption of domestic payment cards can provide consumers with alternatives to cash and contribute to the wider use of electronic payment channels. Banks also play an important role in this process by issuing cards, serving customers and supporting access to digital payment services. Bank of Khyber’s participation in the campaign reflects the importance of cooperation between financial institutions and payment networks in promoting locally available payment solutions. However, the announcement did not provide figures on PayPak card issuance, transaction volumes or the campaign’s overall results.

The recognition comes as Pakistan continues to promote digital payments and expand the infrastructure supporting electronic transactions. Payment campaigns, bank partnerships and merchant acceptance initiatives can help familiarise customers with card-based services and encourage the use of formal payment channels. For 1LINK and Bank of Khyber, the engagement provides an opportunity to highlight their partnership and the role of PayPak in the domestic payments market. Further information about the campaign’s winners, reward distribution and measurable impact was not included in the announcement. The organisations’ continued cooperation will be relevant to efforts to broaden awareness and usage of domestic payment cards among customers and merchants across Pakistan.
