Raqami Digital Bank Partners with GreenEdTech on Shariah Learning Course

Raqami Islamic Digital Bank has entered into a collaboration with GreenEdTech to bring Shariah-focused learning content to its workforce, acquiring the edtech company’s Islamic Banking and Shariah Knowledge Course as part of the arrangement. The course is delivered by scholar Sheikh Dr. Muhammad Imran Ashraf Usmani and is aimed at deepening employees’ understanding of Shariah principles and how they apply to day-to-day financial practices within an Islamic banking setup.

For Raqami, a digital bank built specifically around Islamic banking principles, having staff with a solid grounding in Shariah-compliant practices is closely tied to how the institution operates, since every product and process the bank offers needs to align with those principles rather than following conventional banking norms. Bringing in a structured, scholar-led course gives the bank a formal way to build that knowledge across its workforce rather than relying on ad hoc training or assuming staff already have the relevant background when they join. The partnership positions this as an ongoing investment in staff capability rather than a one-time training exercise.

GreenEdTech, for its part, specializes in digital education content, and the acquisition of its Islamic banking course by Raqami gives the edtech company a direct institutional client for a specialized product that combines religious scholarship with practical banking knowledge. Pairing a recognized scholar with a digital delivery format allows the course content to be scaled across Raqami’s employee base without requiring in-person sessions for every participant, which is typically more efficient for a growing digital bank that may have staff spread across different locations or working remotely.

Both companies described the collaboration as a step toward building deeper Islamic banking capabilities at Raqami, though no details were shared on how many employees will go through the course, how long the training program will run, or whether it will become a mandatory part of onboarding for new staff going forward. There was also no indication of whether the partnership between Raqami and GreenEdTech will extend to additional courses or a longer-term content arrangement beyond this initial acquisition.
