The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Pakistan (ICAP) is set to host a Sector Spotlight focused on the insurance industry, bringing together professionals from business, accounting, taxation, regulation, ESG, technology and AI. The in-person session will take place on Friday, September 4, 2026, from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at ICAP House in Karachi.
The programme is part of ICAP’s Sector Series initiative and will examine the insurance sector as an important component of financial stability and economic resilience. The session will cover the industry’s role in providing risk protection and mobilising long-term savings, alongside developments including Takaful, health insurance and digital insurance solutions.
The speakers panel will feature Dr. Bakht Jamal Sheikh from Adamjee Life Assurance Company Limited for the business perspective, Mr. Junaid Masood and Mr. Muhammad Raza from A.F. Ferguson & Co. for accounting, financial reporting, tax and regulatory perspectives, and Ms. Zehra Aneek from EY Ford Rhodes for ESG and sustainability. Mr. Fahad Ahmed, a leadership and transformation expert, will address technology and AI.
Ms. Asma Campwala, Group Financial Controller at Nativ Global, will moderate the session, while Ms. Rizwana Abdul Karim, CFO Convenor of SRC ICAP, will deliver the opening remarks. Mr. Bashir Ahmed, Chairman of SRC ICAP, will deliver the closing remarks.
The event will explore how governance, financial reporting, taxation, regulation, sustainability and technological adoption are shaping the future of Pakistan’s insurance industry. ICAP said understanding these interconnected areas is important for professionals seeking to assess emerging opportunities and challenges within the sector.
