The inclusion of Pakistan in Amazon’s Sellers’ List will boost exports, according to President Alvi

Dr. Arif Alvi, the President of Pakistan, has stated that Pakistan’s inclusion on Amazon’s seller list will improve the country’s exports and create a plethora of job opportunities for young entrepreneurs.

He noted that Amazon was a vital platform for youth and Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) to expand their reach to worldwide markets, emphasising the importance of e-commerce.

He emphasized the need to focus on the value-addition of products so that they could have a competitive edge in the global market. The President made these remarks while chairing a briefing, organized by Enablers: Amazon FBA Pakistan, on Emerging Opportunities in the wake of Pakistan’s inclusion in Amazon’s list at Aiwan-e-Sadr, today.

Saqib Azhar, CEO of Enablers, Syed Javed Hassan, Chairman NAVTTC, Aisha Humera Moriani, Senior Joint Secretary Ministry of Commerce, Aisha Humera Moriani, senior members of various e-commerce associations, representatives from the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) and the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP), and senior government officials were present at the meeting.

The CEO gave a presentation to the group about the promise of e-commerce as well as the challenges that Amazon and e-commerce sellers confront. While praising Pakistan’s inclusion on Amazon’s seller list, the President emphasised the importance of educating young entrepreneurs on the ins and outs of e-commerce.

The Chairman of the National Vocational and Technical Training Commission (NAVTTC) told the gathering that his organisation was working to teach young entrepreneurs about e-commerce so they could take advantage of new economic opportunities.
