ABHI Microfinance Bank Files for Main Board IPO on PSX

ABHI Microfinance Bank Limited has applied for listing on the Main Board of the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), marking a significant development for the microfinance banking and fintech sector in Pakistan. The proposed Initial Public Offering (IPO) comprises 132 million ordinary shares with a par value of Rs10 each. The shares will be offered through the Book Building Method at a floor price of Rs15 per share. The planned listing will bring ABHI Microfinance Bank to the public capital market as the institution continues its transition following the acquisition and transformation of the former FINCA Microfinance Bank. The move also comes during a period of increased activity in Pakistan’s primary equity market, with several companies pursuing public listings and raising capital through the PSX.

According to the proposed offering details, the 132 million shares will be offered to investors through the book-building process, with the floor price set at Rs15 per share. Based on the floor price, the offering has a minimum value of Rs1.98 billion, although the final amount raised will depend on the price determined through the book-building process. Arif Habib Limited, Topline Securities Limited and Growth Securities (Private) Limited have been appointed as Joint Lead Managers to the issue. The Pakistan Stock Exchange has also placed the bank’s Draft Prospectus on its website under the section for public comments, allowing concerned parties to submit written comments on the proposed offering by the close of business on Monday, August 10, 2026.

The proposed IPO follows a major turnaround in ABHI Microfinance Bank’s financial performance. The bank reported a profit after tax of Rs1.019 billion for 2025, compared with a loss after tax of Rs1.754 billion in 2024. This represents a profitability improvement of Rs2.773 billion in one year and marks the highest annual profit reported by the institution. The turnaround follows the acquisition of the former FINCA Microfinance Bank by ABHI and subsequent efforts to transform the institution through changes in its operations, technology and product strategy. The bank has increasingly positioned itself around technology-led financial services, with digital interventions being introduced across its operating model and customer experience.

The IPO is also expected to provide ABHI Microfinance Bank with additional capital as it expands its financial services portfolio. The institution has identified areas including gold-backed lending as an opportunity for future growth and is also exploring technology-driven financial products. Its broader strategy includes developing a more digitally focused banking platform aimed at serving underserved and emerging consumer segments. The bank has also been associated with plans to explore digital asset initiatives, including gold tokenisation, as well as the potential development of a technology-enabled cross-border payments corridor connecting Pakistan and the Middle East. These plans place the IPO within a wider transformation strategy that combines microfinance, digital banking and emerging financial technologies.

The proposed Main Board listing represents an important step for ABHI Microfinance Bank as it seeks to build on its recent financial recovery and expand its position within Pakistan’s financial services sector. The offering will give investors an opportunity to participate in the bank through the PSX, while the proposed capital raise can support its balance sheet and future business plans. The transaction also highlights the growing connection between fintech companies, regulated banking institutions and Pakistan’s capital markets, particularly as technology-led financial businesses increasingly enter traditional financial sectors. With the Draft Prospectus now open for public comments and the book-building process to follow, ABHI Microfinance Bank is moving toward what could become one of the notable financial sector listings on the PSX in 2026.
