JazzCash has become the first Pakistani company to feature on CNBC and Statista’s World’s Top Fintech Companies 2026 list, earning recognition in the Payments category. The list is now in its fourth edition, and a review of this year’s rankings across all nine categories turned up no other Pakistani entrant, making JazzCash the sole representative from the country on the list.
According to CNBC and Statista, this year’s list evaluated around 3,500 companies worldwide and drew on more than 25,000 data points gathered from February 2026 onward, before narrowing the final selection down to 500 companies spanning more than 50 countries and territories. The ranking covers nine market segments, including Payments, Wealth Technology, Neobanking, Alternative Financing, Digital Assets, Enterprise Fintech, Insurtech, Regtech, and a broader Others category, with companies evaluated through an aggregated scoring model that combines desk research using publicly available data with voluntary submissions gathered through an open application process. Regulation technology was expanded into its own dedicated segment this year, reflecting growing interest in companies that help other businesses meet financial regulatory obligations.
JazzCash is Pakistan’s leading digital financial services platform and a subsidiary of VEON Ltd, listed on Nasdaq, operating under a Branchless Banking charter with mobile wallet services offered in collaboration with Mobilink Microfinance Bank. The platform serves more than 60 million customers and processed 16.8 trillion Pakistani rupees, or approximately 59.7 billion United States dollars, in gross transaction value during the twelve months ending March 2026, with a portfolio spanning payments, lending, insurance, welfare disbursements, government to person payments, and government backed investment products.
The platform pointed to its network of more than 1.7 million Raast enabled QR merchants as a key factor extending digital payments to underserved individuals and communities, including those with limited access to traditional banking infrastructure. It also issues an average of more than 200,000 digital loans daily, which it said gives individuals and small businesses more convenient access to formal credit.
In a social media announcement, JazzCash said the recognition belonged to its customers, crediting the more than 60 million people who trust the platform with their everyday payments, the merchants across Pakistan who accept Raast QR payments at their shops, and the micro entrepreneurs who turn to it for credit. The statement added that every transaction made by its users was effectively what the recognition was measuring, and thanked customers for making the platform part of their daily life, adding that it intended to keep working to retain that trust.
Other companies named on this year’s list across different segments include DriveWealth in wealth technology, PayJoy in alternative financing, RedotPay in payments, and Zip in enterprise fintech, reflecting the broad scale of the ranking across payments infrastructure, lending, wealth platforms, and enterprise financial technology worldwide. The global fintech sector has continued to draw significant investment, with KPMG reporting 44.7 billion dollars invested across more than 2,200 deals in the first half of 2025 alone, as artificial intelligence adds further momentum to a sector CNBC and Statista describe as moving from a high growth challenger space toward a core part of the global financial system.
The recognition comes as JazzCash continues to expand its footprint in Pakistan’s digital economy, following an announcement in May this year that it had crossed 60 million registered customers while processing the same 16.8 trillion rupees in annual gross transaction value now cited in the CNBC and Statista recognition. The company has positioned this growth as part of a broader shift toward a cashless economy in Pakistan, with continued investment planned in products and partnerships aimed at expanding financial inclusion and supporting the country’s digital economy.
