1LINK (Pvt.) Limited has hosted an industry orientation webinar on the Pasban Remittance Rewards Scheme, bringing together representatives from reporting banks, beneficiary banks and Electronic Money Institutions (EMIs). The session focused on explaining the scheme’s operational framework and helping participating institutions understand their respective responsibilities. During the webinar, Umair Shahid, Head of Payments at 1LINK, presented an overview of the scheme’s key features, eligibility requirements, institutional roles, draw process and reporting procedures. The presentation was followed by a question-and-answer session, allowing participants to seek clarification on different aspects of the programme. The initiative reflects 1LINK’s engagement with financial institutions involved in the remittance ecosystem and its efforts to communicate the operational requirements of the rewards scheme to relevant industry stakeholders.
The webinar covered several areas considered important for institutions participating in the Pasban Remittance Rewards Scheme. These included the eligibility criteria for participation, the responsibilities assigned to different institutional categories and the process through which prize draws are conducted. Reporting requirements were also discussed, giving participants an opportunity to understand the information and procedures associated with the scheme. The involvement of reporting banks, beneficiary banks and EMIs highlights the range of financial service providers included in the orientation. By bringing these stakeholders together in one session, 1LINK provided a platform for explaining the scheme’s framework and addressing questions about its implementation. The company has not disclosed the number of institutions represented, the total number of participants or any changes to the scheme’s existing terms through the announcement.
The session was attended by senior representatives from 1LINK and the Pakistan Banks Association (PBA). Najeeb Agrawalla, Chief Executive Officer of 1LINK, participated alongside Mir Nejib Rahman, Chief Operating Officer of the Pakistan Banks Association. Other attendees included Azimullah Khan, Chief Digital and Tech Solutions, and Muhammad Bashir Khan, Chief Core Business at 1LINK, together with their respective teams. Their participation reflected the involvement of leadership and operational representatives in the industry orientation. The presence of the Pakistan Banks Association’s COO also brought an industry-level perspective to the discussion, given the participation of banks in the scheme. However, the announcement did not provide details of any separate policy decisions, new partnerships or agreements concluded during the webinar.
The Pasban Remittance Rewards Scheme was the central focus of the session, with 1LINK concentrating on helping participating institutions understand its features and procedures. Remittance services remain an important part of Pakistan’s financial ecosystem, connecting overseas senders with recipients and financial institutions operating within the country. In this context, coordination among reporting banks, beneficiary banks and EMIs is relevant to the functioning of programmes involving remittance-related transactions. The webinar provided an opportunity to clarify the roles of these institutions and discuss the draw and reporting processes associated with the scheme. While 1LINK has not announced further initiatives or changes following the orientation, the session demonstrates its role in facilitating communication among industry participants. The company said the webinar included an interactive question-and-answer segment, allowing attendees to raise queries and improve their understanding of the programme’s operational requirements.
