1LINK and Visa Partner for Faster Remittances

1LINK and Visa have joined forces to enhance cross-border remittance services for overseas Pakistanis. The partnership aims to provide a faster, more secure, and convenient way for individuals to send money home.

Through Visa Direct, Visa cardholders in various countries can now send remittances to their relatives with bank accounts in Pakistan. The integration of Visa Alias Directory Service within the 1LINK network will simplify the process, improve user experience, and protect sensitive payment information.

Additionally, the partnership will enable PayPak cardholders to make secure online transactions through Visa’s Cybersource platform. This will expand the range of e-commerce options available to PayPak users in Pakistan.

The signing ceremony for the partnership was attended by high-level officials from the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP), 1LINK, and Visa. The Deputy Governor of SBP, Saleem Ullah, expressed his support for the initiative, highlighting its potential to improve financial inclusion and economic development.

Leila Serhan, Senior Vice President and Group Country Manager for Visa, emphasized the importance of this partnership in unlocking financial inclusion for underserved communities in Pakistan. She noted that the Visa Alias Directory service offers a simplified and secure way for individuals to send and receive money.

Najeeb Agrawalla, CEO of 1LINK, expressed his excitement about the collaboration, highlighting its potential to revolutionize the remittance landscape in Pakistan. He emphasized the speed, security, and improved access that this partnership will provide to overseas Pakistanis.

The partnership between 1LINK and Visa is expected to have a significant impact on the Pakistani economy by facilitating remittances and expanding the country’s digital payment ecosystem.
