United Insurance Meets Partners to Optimize Reinsurance Programme for 2027

The United Insurance Company of Pakistan Limited held a meeting with leadership and teams from UIB Asia Reinsurance Brokers and Indemnifier Insurance Broker to discuss the strategic structuring and optimization of its reinsurance programme. The session also touched on expanding the company’s insurance and Takaful business relationships with JS Bank and BankIslami, as part of a broader push toward closer collaboration and sustainable growth among the parties involved.

Discussions covered the evolving risk landscape facing the company, along with treaty capacity, underwriting considerations, and portfolio dynamics relevant to shaping the reinsurance programme for the year ahead. Reinsurance arrangements of this kind are typically reviewed and adjusted on an annual basis, with insurers working alongside their brokers and reinsurance partners to size treaty capacity against their current risk exposure and business growth plans, so the timing of the meeting lines up with that kind of annual planning cycle ahead of the 2027 treaty programme.

Mr. PengHua Lim, Director of the Treaty and Retro Division at UIB Singapore, took part in the discussion, with both sides describing the exchange as constructive and focused on building sustainable capacity and improving technical collaboration between the company and its reinsurance partners. The involvement of Indemnifier Insurance Broker alongside UIB Asia points to a layered advisory structure supporting United Insurance’s reinsurance placement, while the parallel discussion on JS Bank and BankIslami suggests the company is also looking to grow its bancassurance and Takaful distribution alongside its core reinsurance planning.

No specific figures were disclosed regarding treaty capacity, premium volumes, or the scope of the planned expansion with JS Bank and BankIslami, and no timeline was given for when the reinsurance programme discussions would be finalized. Both sides indicated the meeting forms part of ongoing engagement between the companies, with further discussions expected as the 2027 treaty programme takes shape.
