NBP Onboards BEOE to Digitally Transform Public Fee Collections via RAAST

The National Bank of Pakistan has reached another major operational milestone in the public sector digital transformation journey by formalizing a strategic agreement with the Bureau of Emigration and Overseas Employment. Under this new partnership, the bank will digitize the fee collection processes for BEOE walk-in applicants nationwide through an integrated payment solution. The formal agreement was recently executed between Rehmat Ali Hasnie, President and Chief Executive Officer of NBP, and Javed Zia, Director General of BEOE, signaling a shared effort to advance a modern, cashless, and digitally empowered national economy.

Through this collaborative effort, NBP will deploy RAAST Person-to-Merchant QR-based digital payment channels for citizens utilizing BEOE facilities. The transition to instant QR collections allows applicants to execute secure, transparent, and direct fee payments from their mobile devices, significantly reducing transaction turnaround times and streamlining on-site administrative operations. By replacing manual payment collection workflows with instant digital verification, both institutions aim to improve overall operational efficiency, optimize customer convenience, and foster greater institutional transparency across public service touchpoints.

Speaking on the partnership, Rehmat Ali Hasnie, accompanied by Adnan Nasir, Group Chief and Chief Digital Officer at NBP, emphasized the pivotal role that digital payment architectures play in executing the broader national roadmap for public sector modernization. The agreement underscores a rapidly expanding shift away from conventional cash-based handling methods toward real-time electronic transaction frameworks across public sector entities. This structural change is designed to optimize revenue management for government bodies while simultaneously expanding access to convenient financial technologies for citizens interacting with state institutions.

As part of its continuous digital expansion strategy, NBP has been actively integrating both public and private sector entities into its unified digital banking ecosystem. The institution has successfully onboarded several prominent organizations, including the National Highways and Motorway Police, National Accountability Bureau, Water and Sanitation Agency, Lahore Electric Supply Company, Water and Power Development Authority Employees Cooperative Housing Society Gujranwala, Federal Science College, University of the Punjab, and Government College University Faisalabad, along with various other public institutions.

The implementation and operational coordination of this collaboration were spearheaded by Farhan Durrani, Divisional Head of Digital Banking Group, and Zohaib Ali Khan, Divisional Head of DBG, under the direct supervision of Adnan Nasir, Group Chief and CDO. Representatives present during the event included Imran Gull, General Manager Islamabad, and Ahmad Ali Athar, North Head of Digital Banking at NBP, alongside key administrative leadership from BEOE. Moving forward, NBP continues to expand its digital framework across public channels to support secure, inclusive, and efficient financial interactions throughout Pakistan.
