E-Pay Punjab App Down, Payments Disrupted

A critical technical glitch has brought the E-Pay Punjab mobile app to a standstill, causing widespread disruption to government services in the province. The app, used for essential payments such as stamp duty, token tax, traffic fines, and vehicle registration, has become inaccessible to users.

The Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB), the app’s developer, is currently working to rectify the issue. However, there is no official timeline for the restoration of the app’s functionality.

The outage has had a cascading effect on other government services. Traffic police departments across Punjab have suspended driving license-related operations due to their reliance on the E-Pay Punjab app.

The incident comes just weeks after a global cybersecurity outage affected numerous devices in Pakistan. While the initial issue was resolved, the E-Pay Punjab crisis highlights the vulnerability of digital infrastructure and the potential for widespread disruption when critical systems fail.

As the situation unfolds, citizens and businesses alike are facing significant inconvenience due to the app’s unavailability.
