NADRA Introduces JazzCash, Easypaisa, and QR Code Payments for Application Fees Nationwide

Islamabad – September 24, 2025: The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has introduced a wide range of new payment facilities for citizens, furthering Pakistan’s transition towards a cashless economy. The move is part of NADRA’s broader vision to digitize services, enhance citizen convenience, and promote financial inclusion.

Under the updated system, applicants whose requests are approved can now choose from multiple payment options. Citizens may still pay their application fees in cash at NADRA service centers, but the new initiative prioritizes digital channels such as JazzCash, Easypaisa, and E-Sahulat outlets. These widely accessible platforms allow applicants to settle their payments securely without visiting traditional bank branches.

A key highlight of the rollout is NADRA’s introduction of a QR code payment feature. At the time of application, citizens can request a unique QR code from NADRA staff. By scanning the code through their mobile banking app, applicants can complete their transaction instantly without incurring any additional charges. This innovation reduces reliance on cash and helps citizens embrace convenient, real-time digital payments.

According to officials, the updated payment structure is available nationwide, ensuring accessibility for citizens across urban and rural areas. By integrating widely used mobile wallets and QR payments, NADRA is aligning itself with the government’s broader digital transformation agenda and Pakistan’s growing fintech ecosystem.

In addition to the new payment channels, NADRA continues to provide customer support through its helpline (1777), online complaint portal (complaints.nadra.gov.pk), and the Pak ID mobile app. These platforms allow applicants to seek assistance and raise concerns without physically visiting NADRA offices.

The rollout of digital payment facilities follows other recent steps by NADRA to enhance service delivery for both domestic and overseas Pakistanis. Earlier this month, the authority revised the NICOP (National Identity Card for Overseas Pakistanis) fee structure for citizens living in South Africa. The NICOP remains a vital identity document that provides overseas Pakistanis with legal recognition, access to government services, and benefits that strengthen their connection with Pakistan.

By embracing fintech-driven solutions such as mobile wallets and QR code payments, NADRA is contributing to a larger shift toward a documented and digital economy. These innovations not only improve convenience for citizens but also reflect Pakistan’s commitment to building a modern, transparent, and cashless payment ecosystem.
