Ms. Shaista Abdullah, Chief Merchants & Schemes Operations at 1LINK, delivered a keynote speech on “Strengthening Consumer Confidence in Digital Payments” at the Digital Trust & Financial Inclusion Summit 2026. The conference was held on July 29, 2026, at the Mövenpick Hotel in Karachi and brought together stakeholders to discuss digital trust, financial inclusion and developments in Pakistan’s digital financial ecosystem. The summit was organized by Unikrew Solutions in collaboration with Pakistan Fintech Network and Nadra Technologies NTL, bringing industry participants together to discuss issues surrounding the adoption and development of digital financial services.
During her keynote, Shaista Abdullah highlighted the importance of consumer confidence in the continued growth of digital payments. As consumers increasingly use digital channels for financial transactions, trust has become an important factor in determining how comfortably individuals adopt and continue using electronic payment services. Secure payment systems, reliable transaction processes and customer-focused services can contribute to greater confidence among users, particularly as digital payments become more closely integrated into everyday financial activities.
Shaista emphasized the role of secure and customer-centric payment ecosystems in building trust among consumers. Digital payment platforms need to provide users with reliable and secure ways to complete transactions while maintaining a focus on the customer experience. Security and ease of use are particularly relevant as financial institutions, payment networks and fintech companies continue to expand digital payment options. A payment ecosystem that users can rely on can encourage greater adoption and help address concerns that may otherwise limit participation in digital financial services.
The discussion also connected consumer confidence with financial inclusion across Pakistan. Digital payments can provide individuals with greater access to financial services by offering electronic alternatives to traditional cash-based transactions. However, wider adoption depends not only on the availability of digital payment channels but also on whether consumers trust the systems and services they are using. By focusing on security, reliability and customer needs, payment ecosystem participants can contribute to broader participation in digital financial services and support the continued development of financial inclusion.
The Digital Trust & Financial Inclusion Summit 2026 provided a platform for industry stakeholders to discuss the relationship between trust, technology and access to financial services. 1LINK’s participation through Shaista Abdullah’s keynote placed consumer confidence and secure payment infrastructure at the center of the discussion. As Pakistan’s digital payments ecosystem continues to develop, the focus on secure and customer-centric payment services remains relevant to encouraging wider adoption, building trust among users and supporting the expansion of digital financial services across the country.
