NUST IEDC Announces Five Day Blockchain Programme For Executives

The NUST Iqbal Executive Development Centre has announced a five-day Programme on Blockchain for Executives, designed to help senior decision-makers understand where blockchain technology can create real value across their organisations. The programme begins on September 28, 2026, and will run daily from 9am to 5pm, giving participants a full working day of structured sessions across the week. Executives interested in attending can register through the online registration form shared by the centre.

The programme is pitched at the executive level rather than at developers or technical specialists, with the stated aim of helping leaders judge where blockchain fits within their own business rather than treating it as a general technology trend. That distinction matters because decisions on whether to adopt distributed ledger systems, tokenised assets, or blockchain-based settlement usually sit with managers, directors, and board members, who need to weigh costs, regulatory exposure, and operational readiness before committing resources. A five-day, full-day format suggests an intensive approach aimed at giving participants enough time to move past introductory definitions and toward practical evaluation of use cases within their own industries.

The timing of the programme aligns with a period of rapid regulatory change around digital and virtual assets in Pakistan. The Pakistan Virtual Assets Regulatory Authority was established after the Virtual Assets Ordinance was issued in July 2025, the Virtual Assets Act followed in March 2026, and licensing regulations for virtual asset service providers were notified in August 2026. PVARA officials have also been active on international platforms, including a United Nations session on blockchain and tokenised infrastructure held during UNGA High-Level Week, where the discussion covered payments, remittances, securities, commodities, and capital formation. As these developments move from policy into implementation, executives in banking, financial services, logistics, and public sector organisations are increasingly expected to have an informed view on how blockchain affects their operations.

For organisations, the value of executive-level training lies in being able to separate realistic applications from hype, whether that involves tokenisation of assets, cross-border payments, supply chain traceability, or record-keeping systems that need to be tamper-resistant. Leaders who understand the underlying technology and its limits are better placed to ask the right questions of vendors, evaluate proposals from technical teams, and engage with regulators as the framework around virtual assets matures. Programmes offered through university-linked executive development centres also tend to bring together participants from different sectors, which gives attendees a chance to compare how peers in other industries are approaching the same questions. Interested professionals should register through the link ahead of the September 28 start date to secure a place in the programme, which is being presented by NUST IEDC as part of its executive education offerings for senior managers and decision-makers across sectors.
