JazzCash Integrates Veem to Enable Freelancers to Convert USD to PKR Through Its Wallet

JazzCash has integrated Veem into its digital wallet, allowing Pakistani freelancers to receive and manage US dollar payments from overseas clients without using a separate application. The integration enables users to open a Veem account through JazzCash, complete the required onboarding process, create invoices, receive payments in USD and monitor transactions from payment initiation through completion. Users can then convert their dollar balances into Pakistani rupees directly through the JazzCash wallet, bringing international payment collection and local currency conversion into a single platform.

According to Muhammad Harris Saeed Khan, Head of Consumer Products at JazzCash, the integration is designed to simplify the process for freelancers who regularly receive payments from international clients. Freelancers can open a Veem account in real time with minimal KYC requirements, raise invoices and share them with overseas customers. Once a payment is received, users can track its status and subsequently move their USD balance into PKR without leaving the JazzCash application. The arrangement removes the need for freelancers to manage multiple applications or separate logins for different stages of the payment process.

A key feature highlighted by JazzCash is the cost of converting USD into PKR. The service charges a 1% fee for withdrawing USD to PKR, which the company describes as an industry-low rate, alongside market-competitive foreign exchange rates. By combining international payment collection with direct currency conversion, the service is positioned as a solution for freelancers seeking a simpler way to manage earnings received from foreign clients. The integration also gives users access to invoicing and payment tracking features as part of the same digital journey.

The partnership reflects the growing demand for digital financial services tailored to Pakistan’s expanding freelance and remote-work economy. Freelancers often receive payments from clients outside Pakistan and need convenient channels to collect foreign currency before converting their earnings into local currency. By bringing Veem’s international payment capabilities into JazzCash, the companies are combining cross-border payment functionality with an existing local digital wallet. This can allow users to handle more of their payment activity from a familiar platform while reducing the number of separate services required to manage international earnings.

The launch also highlights how digital wallets are expanding beyond traditional domestic transfers and bill payments into services designed around the needs of internationally connected workers. For Pakistani freelancers, the ability to invoice overseas clients, receive USD payments, track transactions and convert funds into PKR within JazzCash could provide a more integrated approach to managing their income. The Veem integration adds another international payment option to Pakistan’s growing digital financial ecosystem and reflects increasing efforts by fintech companies and financial platforms to build services around the changing ways individuals and businesses earn and receive money.
