Dukan Rocks 100,000 E-Commerce Stores By Local Sellers

Dukan.pk, an e-commerce firm that allows anyone with a smartphone to create a web store, revealed today that 100,000 small companies in Pakistan have used its mobile app to create e-commerce storefronts. This is a significant achievement for Dukan, which has only been in existence for five months.

Established and home-based vendors from many sectors, including food, fashion, electronics, and retail, are part of Dukan’s growing network of entrepreneurs. These sellers can access customers beyond their geographic proximity to build their enterprises by providing free technology solutions to sell online.

Small businesses form the backbone of Pakistan’s economy, accounting for roughly 90% of all firms, employing 80% of the country’s non-agricultural labour force, and contributing 40% of GDP yearly.

Dukan is on a goal to turn everyone into a business owner by providing a simple local language platform for inventory management, online payments, delivery, digital loans, and advertising technology to increase orders through social media.

Dukan was founded by a group of tech veterans with the goal of inspiring, educating, and connecting the increasing community of e-commerce businesses. Anyone with a smartphone, according to Dukan, has the ability to make a difference.

“We are happy to be given this chance at a key time in Pakistan’s digital journey to help small businesses achieve their potential with our technology and financial tools,” said Monis Rahman, Co-founder and CEO of Dukan.
