Easypaisa Digital Bank Leads Disbursement for Prime Minister Fuel Package 2026

The digital financial landscape in Pakistan is witnessing a major milestone in public welfare distribution as easypaisa digital bank takes the lead in implementing the Prime Minister Fuel Package 2026. As the nations prominent digital financial services platform easypaisa is facilitating the rapid and transparent disbursement of financial assistance to millions of eligible citizens across the country. This partnership with the Government of Pakistan underscores the critical role that fintech infrastructure plays in modernizing state led relief programs. By leveraging its sophisticated mobile wallet ecosystem the platform is ensuring that funds reach the intended beneficiaries without the traditional hurdles associated with physical cash distribution.

Recent data released on April 9 2026 confirms that easypaisa has already successfully disbursed approximately 1.2 billion rupees to over 32,000 beneficiaries. This initial group includes operators of essential transport vehicles such as buses trucks long haul vehicles and delivery vans. Notably easypaisa became the first digital wallet service to successfully transfer the first batch of funds specifically to truck operators which was followed by subsequent disbursements for tank lorries and motorcycle owners. The use of digital infrastructure allows for real time transfers which significantly reduces the waiting time for recipients who previously had to navigate complex manual processes or long queues at traditional banks.

Jahanzeb Khan who serves as the President and CEO of easypaisa digital bank expressed the institutions pride in supporting the government’s efforts to provide timely financial relief. He emphasized that the banks mission is centered on simplifying access to financial services and empowering Pakistanis through secure digital tools. The successful execution of the Fuel Package 2026 demonstrates how digital banks can enhance the efficiency and transparency of public welfare programs by minimizing leakages and ensuring precise targeting. This level of accountability is essential for the sustainability of large scale government to person payment initiatives and builds greater public trust in digital financial systems.

The Federal Minister for Information Technology and Telecommunication Shaza Fatima Khawaja also highlighted the importance of this digital shift stating that digital payments are a key pillar of the modern financial system. Under the broader digital nation vision lead by Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif the government is actively promoting a cashless and digitally empowered Pakistan. Platforms like easypaisa are considered instrumental in reaching citizens quickly and securely regardless of their geographic location. The extensive reach of the easypaisa network which includes over 59 million registered users and a vast agent network spanning both urban and rural areas ensures that even the most remote citizens can access their relief funds conveniently.

Beyond the immediate relief provided by the fuel package easypaisa’s involvement reflects a deeper commitment to the growth of the national digital economy. By providing recipients with the ability to not only withdraw funds but also pay bills and make digital purchases directly from their wallets the platform is encouraging a transition toward a more integrated digital lifestyle. As Pakistan continues its digital transformation journey the collaboration between the state and private fintech leaders like easypaisa serves as a blueprint for future social safety net programs. This initiative stands as a testament to the power of technology in driving financial inclusion and strengthening the nations economic resilience during challenging times.
