Maleaha Cofounder Of Easy Insurance Discusses Building Insurance Awareness In Pakistan

Maleaha, co-founder of Easy Insurance, spoke about her journey of creating a platform dedicated to promoting insurance awareness in Pakistan. As a management sciences graduate with five years of experience in the education sector, Maleaha turned her passion for marketing into building a digital tool that helps users find insurance plans suited to their needs. With only two percent of Pakistan’s population insured, she emphasized the importance of insurance as a financial tool for mitigating risks and providing security. Her personal experience as a single mother navigating life without a financial backup for her daughter Fatima motivated her to create Easy Insurance and simplify access to insurance services online. Watch the complete video interview here.

She highlighted that when graduates in Pakistan start their professional journey, they are often expected to work in established companies. Maleaha, however, chose the entrepreneurial path, realizing that dedicating her energy to her own idea brought more satisfaction and purpose. She discussed how running a startup involves daily problem-solving and learning. Entrepreneurs face challenges regularly, but these experiences equip them with skills to find solutions and navigate uncertainties. For Maleaha, the most rewarding aspect of her work has been directly helping customers benefit from insurance and seeing the tangible impact on their lives when claims are fulfilled.

Maleaha also discussed the market challenges specific to insurance in Pakistan, including lack of awareness and certain religious apprehensions. Through research and interaction with users, Easy Insurance identified misconceptions and cultural hesitations that hindered adoption. By explaining how insurance works and addressing these concerns, the platform has been able to open conversations and encourage wider acceptance. She noted that even small milestones in building trust, such as delivering excellent service to just a few customers, contribute significantly to long-term growth and brand credibility.

She credited accelerator programs such as Invest2Innovate and national incubation centers for providing mentorship, networking opportunities, and practical learning that helped Easy Insurance gain traction. Maleaha also acknowledged support from PASHA and recognition at the ICT Awards in the banking and insurance category, which reinforced the value of their efforts in the industry. She reflected on the importance of understanding market needs, building a versatile team, and approaching entrepreneurship with patience and adaptability. Looking ahead, Maleaha aims to expand the platform’s social impact by helping more people understand insurance, improve financial security, and change perceptions around risk mitigation in Pakistan.
