Mobilink Bank, Pakistan’s leading digital microfinance bank, has entered into a strategic alliance with Daraz Pakistan, the country’s largest online marketplace, to promote financial inclusion and digital empowerment of micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs). This landmark partnership aims to enhance access to finance and e-commerce opportunities for small-scale entrepreneurs across the country, driving inclusive economic development at the grassroots level.
The partnership was formalized at a signing ceremony held in Islamabad, attended by Haaris Mahmood Chaudhary, President and CEO of Mobilink Bank, and Ehsan Saya, Managing Director of Daraz Pakistan & Sri Lanka. The initiative reflects a shared vision to create sustainable growth pathways for Pakistan’s MSMEs, especially women-led enterprises, by coupling financial support with digital enablement.
As part of the collaboration, Mobilink Bank will offer customized financing solutions ranging from PKR 25,000 to PKR 3 million to MSMEs registered on the Daraz platform. These financial services will be tailored to support the unique needs of online sellers, enabling them to scale their businesses efficiently. By removing traditional financial barriers, the bank seeks to empower small business owners with the resources they need to thrive in an increasingly digital economy.
In return, Daraz will provide MSMEs with a digital marketplace to showcase and sell their products, offering nationwide exposure and increased revenue opportunities. This fusion of financial access and digital reach forms a comprehensive empowerment ecosystem for entrepreneurs looking to tap into Pakistan’s fast-evolving e-commerce landscape.
The partnership also takes a green initiative forward. Mobilink Bank will extend its green financing solutions—including home solar systems and e-bike financing—to Daraz employees and suppliers. In addition, free banking services will be offered to promote sustainability and responsible financial practices across Daraz’s extended value chain.
Speaking on the occasion, Haaris Mahmood Chaudhary highlighted the long-term impact of the partnership:
“Our collaboration with Daraz offers two valuable growth pathways for MSMEs, especially women-led businesses: customized financial access and digital empowerment to help them achieve scale, resilience, and access to an opportunity-rich countrywide e-commerce market. This reflects our commitment to financial inclusion and development of marginalized economic segments through access to finance and futuristic fintech solutions.”
Ehsan Saya, Managing Director of Daraz Pakistan & Sri Lanka, echoed these sentiments:
“At Daraz, we are deeply committed to empowering small businesses by bridging digital divides and creating new avenues for growth. This partnership with Mobilink Bank significantly strengthens our ability to support MSMEs, especially women entrepreneurs, by seamlessly integrating financial accessibility with the expansive reach of our digital marketplace. Together, we are cultivating an ecosystem where entrepreneurs of all sizes can thrive sustainably and contribute meaningfully to Pakistan’s evolving digital economy.”
Looking ahead, the partnership plans to launch innovative digital financial tools, including QR code-based payment options for Daraz deliveries to ensure seamless, secure transactions. Additionally, Mobilink Bank is considering the deployment of cash deposit facilities at its branches to offer Daraz sellers more flexibility in managing their business operations.
This collaboration marks a promising step toward building a financially inclusive and digitally integrated entrepreneurial ecosystem in Pakistan—one where MSMEs can flourish and contribute robustly to national economic growth.
