Easypaisa is making buying sacrificial animals for Eid-ul-Azha easier and faster with its new in-app QR code payment system.
This initiative is part of the SBP’s drive to promote digital payments. It aims to streamline transactions for both buyers and sellers during the busy Eid season.
Easypaisa’s QR code feature integrates with Raast, Pakistan’s instant payment network. This allows seamless money transfers between Easypaisa users and users of other digital wallets at participating cattle markets nationwide.
“We are committed to SBP’s vision of financial inclusion,” said Shahmeer Nadeem, Head of Product Management at Easypaisa. “This QR payment system will digitize animal purchases, traditionally a cash-based transaction, offering a convenient experience for our users during Eid.”
The Easypaisa app allows users to both send and receive payments using QR codes. Sending involves scanning the seller’s code and entering the amount, while receiving involves displaying a QR code for the seller to scan.
This initiative highlights Easypaisa’s role in advancing Pakistan’s digital financial landscape. Aligned with SBP’s goals, Easypaisa continues to transform the nation’s financial services sector.
