Unikrew Solutions Wins ASOCIO 2026 Award for AI in Financial Services Representing Pakistan Globally

Pakistan’s Unikrew Solutions (Private) Limited has received the AI in Financial Services Award at the ASOCIO Digital & AI Awards 2026, securing international recognition for its work at the intersection of artificial intelligence and financial technology. The award was presented on October 6 at the Swissôtel Jakarta PIK Avenue in Indonesia during the ASOCIO Digital & AI Summit 2026, which brought together technology companies, policymakers, industry executives and digital innovators from across the Asia-Oceania region. Unikrew competed in the AI in Financial Services category against organizations representing several economies, including Indonesia, Thailand, Uzbekistan, Malaysia, Taiwan and Vietnam. The category recognizes the use of artificial intelligence to support innovation, efficiency and inclusion across areas such as banking, fintech, insurance and capital markets, with attention to secure and compliant technology solutions. The recognition gives a Pakistani technology company an international platform in a field where AI is increasingly being applied to financial operations, customer services, digital onboarding, lending and risk management.

Unikrew Solutions CEO Muhammad Naveed Sharif said the award demonstrates that sophisticated AI solutions can be developed in Pakistan and compete internationally. He emphasized that the company’s approach is focused on deploying AI in production environments and addressing institutional requirements rather than treating the technology as a demonstration or short-term trend. Unikrew has built its technology portfolio around digital identity, digital banking, digital lending, Islamic finance, digital onboarding and generative AI, with its platforms being used across financial institutions, insurance companies and public-sector organizations. The company’s international recognition follows a series of recent awards and developments in Pakistan’s technology and financial-services ecosystem. In September, Unikrew’s Cascade end-to-end digital financing platform won the P@SHA ICT Awards 2026 in the Business Services – Finance & Accounting Solutions (Fintech) category. Cascade is designed to cover the financing lifecycle, including origination, underwriting, approval, disbursement, repayments, servicing and collections.

The ASOCIO award also builds on Unikrew’s earlier international recognition for its digital identity technology. In 2025, the company’s Faceoff digital identity platform won Gold at the P@SHA ICT Awards before receiving Silver recognition at the APICTA Awards 2025 in Taiwan. The company has subsequently expanded its technology footprint across digital identity and financing while continuing to develop solutions for financial institutions and public-sector organizations. Unikrew’s recent work includes digital insurance onboarding as well, with Jubilee Life Insurance partnering with the company earlier this month to implement a Multi-Biometric Verification System-compliant digital onboarding solution. The system incorporates camera-based fingerprint acquisition and facial biometric verification for remote identity verification and is designed to support secure customer onboarding and compliance requirements. These developments illustrate how AI, digital identity, biometrics and digital financing are increasingly becoming interconnected components of Pakistan’s financial technology ecosystem.

The international award comes as Pakistan’s fintech sector continues to develop around digital banking, financial inclusion, digital lending and technology-enabled financial services. Unikrew says its platforms are being used by more than 50 financial institutions, insurance companies and public-sector organizations, giving its technology exposure to multiple areas of the financial ecosystem. The company’s latest recognition in Jakarta adds an international dimension to that domestic deployment, particularly as financial institutions worldwide explore AI for improving operational processes, customer journeys and decision-making. For Pakistan’s technology industry, the award also highlights the potential for locally developed financial technology to compete in international markets when it combines specialized financial-sector knowledge with emerging technologies. Unikrew’s progression from digital identity and financing platforms to international recognition for AI in financial services reflects the increasing role of Pakistani technology companies in developing solutions for banking, insurance and other regulated financial environments.
