The Pakistan Microfinance Network (PMN) is bringing together senior representatives from the microfinance, digital payments and fintech sectors at the 10th Annual Microfinance Conference (AMC-X) 2026 in Karachi. The conference, being held at Mövenpick Hotel Karachi on October 7–8, is focused on the theme “Pathways for Inclusive Growth: Unlocking Synergies” and is examining how collaboration between financial institutions, technology platforms and other stakeholders can expand access to financial services. PMN said the conference provides a platform for industry professionals and other stakeholders to discuss the future of inclusive finance, with digital payments, fintech and financial platforms emerging as important components of the discussion. The event is being organized by the Pakistan Microfinance Network with the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) under the PAIDAR — Poverty Alleviation and Inclusive Development Across Rural Sindh — initiative, with funding from the European Union in Pakistan.
One of the sessions at AMC-X is bringing together representatives from Raast Payments Pakistan, Tasdeeq, Damen Support Programme, Mastercard, 1LINK, CIRCLE Women and the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP). The participants include Muhammad Saad Akhtar, Head of Raast Operations at Raast Payments Pakistan; Humza Hussain, Chief Product and Strategy Officer at Tasdeeq; Asghar Ali Memon, Chief Executive Officer of Damen Support Programme; Arslan Khan, Country Manager at Mastercard; Suleman Hasan, Chief Corporate Affairs and Company Secretary at 1LINK; Sadaffe Abid, Founder and CEO of CIRCLE Women; and Sajjad Ali, Additional Director and Head of the Lending and PF Department in SECP’s Specialized Companies Division. The session is designed to examine how connections between microfinance institutions and digital platforms can improve the reach of financial services and support greater participation in the formal financial system.
Digital payment infrastructure is a key part of this discussion, particularly as microfinance institutions and financial service providers increasingly rely on technology to reach customers. Raast, Pakistan’s instant payment infrastructure, and 1LINK’s interoperable payment services represent parts of the broader ecosystem through which digital transactions can be facilitated. Tasdeeq, meanwhile, operates in the digital credit information space, while Mastercard brings experience in payment technology and financial services. The participation of these organizations alongside microfinance sector representatives creates an opportunity to discuss how different platforms can work together across payments, credit information, lending and customer access. PMN has described the broader conversation as one focused on the way digital payments, fintech and financial platforms are creating new opportunities to reach more people and deliver financial services more effectively. The conference is therefore addressing the intersection between traditional microfinance and technology-enabled financial services.
AMC-X 2026 is also bringing together senior representatives from across Pakistan’s wider financial ecosystem. PMN has announced participation from State Bank of Pakistan and SECP officials, financial institutions, microfinance organizations and development-sector stakeholders during the two-day event. Saleem Ullah, Deputy Governor of the State Bank of Pakistan, is participating as Guest of Honour, while Imtiaz Haider, Commissioner of SECP’s Specialized Companies and Licensing Divisions, has been announced as a keynote speaker. PMN Chairman Amir Khan, who is also President and CEO of HBL Microfinance Bank, is opening the conference with a welcome address focused on the future of a digitally driven microfinance sector. The conference is also supported by institutions and organizations including 1LINK, Damen Support Programme, ASA Microfinance Bank, Jubilee Life Insurance, Karandaaz Pakistan and others. The discussions at AMC-X 2026 are expected to cover financial inclusion, digital finance, partnerships, investment, Islamic finance and other issues affecting the development of Pakistan’s microfinance sector.
