Easypaisa Transactions Face Delays Across Six Payment Firms Amid Payment Processing Issues

Transactions linked to Easypaisa and processed through several merchant and payment intermediary firms are reportedly facing delays, creating uncertainty for businesses and customers using digital payment channels in Pakistan. According to industry sources cited by TechJuice, the disruption is affecting transactions associated with SWICH, Simpaisa, ajarPay, RapidPay, Zero Technologies and Finza Tech, with some merchant payments experiencing processing and settlement delays. The situation has raised concerns among businesses waiting for transactions to be processed and funds to be settled. However, the reported issue does not appear to be a nationwide outage affecting the entire Easypaisa wallet network. Routine wallet services and person-to-person transfers reportedly remain available, indicating that the disruption is concentrated around certain payment channels and intermediary arrangements rather than all Easypaisa services.

International payment processor dLocal has also reported processing issues involving Easypaisa payments in Pakistan. Its public status page said on October 2 that it had identified processing problems with the Easypaisa payment method and was investigating the matter after contacting the relevant processor. Subsequent updates from dLocal continued to state that the issue was under investigation. The development is significant for businesses that depend on digital payment processors and merchant aggregators to receive customer payments, particularly where transaction processing involves multiple parties before funds reach the final merchant account. Delays at any point in this chain can affect settlement timelines and create uncertainty around pending transactions.

The reported disruption comes amid increased scrutiny of digital payment channels over their potential use in online gaming, gambling, suspicious financial activity, unauthorized transfers and other illicit transactions. Recent investigations by law enforcement agencies have examined the alleged movement of funds through bank accounts, mobile wallets and cryptocurrency-related channels in connection with illegal online gaming and gambling activities. Investigators have also looked into multiple-account transactions, digital hawala and hundi networks and other methods that may be used to move funds outside regulated channels. Separately, the State Bank of Pakistan introduced a regulatory framework in May 2026 covering certain payment intermediaries and aggregators, with requirements involving documentation, foreign exchange compliance, settlement procedures and monitoring of financial flows.

For Pakistan’s digital payments sector, the immediate concern is the impact of delayed settlements on legitimate merchants and businesses that depend on timely payment processing. While the available information does not indicate a nationwide Easypaisa service outage, disruptions involving connected payment firms can still affect merchants whose transactions depend on specific processing and settlement arrangements. Industry sources have said businesses are seeking clarity on when pending payments and affected funds will be cleared. Easypaisa was approached for comment on the reported issue, but a company representative said the organization did not wish to comment at this stage. The situation highlights the importance of reliable settlement infrastructure as Pakistan’s digital commerce and payment ecosystem continues to expand, while payment firms and regulators face the challenge of maintaining compliance and financial monitoring without creating unnecessary disruption for legitimate digital transactions.
