Junaid Kara, Chief Audit Executive at easypaisa digital bank, participated in the COLABS Networking Thursday panel discussion titled “Beyond Banking | Building Financial Access in Pakistan.” The session focused on the evolving financial services landscape in Pakistan, with discussions around financial awareness, financial inclusion and the growing role of digital banking in expanding access to financial services.
Speaking alongside Halima Iqbal, Founder and CEO of Oraan, and Ali Ladhubhai, Co-Founder of ABHI Microfinance Bank, Junaid shared insights into easypaisa’s scale and operational resilience. He highlighted the importance of innovation, customer-focused solutions and trust in enabling wider access to digital financial services across the country.
Junaid noted that regulatory support and changing customer expectations are contributing to the continued shift toward digital financial services. He described this transition as increasingly significant, with digital channels playing a larger role in how customers access and use financial products and services.
The discussion also highlighted trust as an important element of digital banking adoption. According to Junaid, financial institutions build customer trust through consistent performance, effective governance, customer protection and reliable service delivery. These factors remain particularly important as more customers shift from traditional banking channels toward digital financial platforms.
