SECP Hosts Talk Series on IPO Journeys of Three Companies

The Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP) is set to host the fourth edition of its SECP Talk Series, bringing together leaders from three companies that recently listed on the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX). Titled “Three Companies, One Big Leap to the Stock Market,” the session will focus on the companies’ journeys from private businesses to publicly listed entities and the opportunities created through access to the capital market.

The session will feature Omar Saeed, CEO of SLM Tires, Zaheer Baig, CEO of Sitara Petroleum Service Limited, and Adnan Aftab, CEO of Select Technologies. The three companies represent different sectors, with SLM Tires operating in tyre manufacturing and exports, Sitara Petroleum Service in the fuel sector, and Select Technologies in mobile phone manufacturing. Their participation is intended to provide practical perspectives on the process of entering the public market.

According to SECP, the speakers will share their IPO experiences, including the key lessons and challenges they encountered during the listing process. The discussion will also explore how going public helped accelerate business growth, improve corporate governance and provide companies with access to long-term capital. These experiences can offer useful insights for other private companies considering a transition to the stock market.

The event also highlights SECP’s efforts to encourage more companies to consider public listings as a means of raising capital and supporting business expansion. Greater participation by private-sector companies can contribute to the development of Pakistan’s capital markets while providing investors with opportunities to participate in the growth of established businesses. The experiences of recently listed companies can also help prospective issuers better understand the requirements and potential benefits of an IPO.

The fourth SECP Talk Series is scheduled for August 11, 2026, at 11:30 AM at the SECP Head Office in NICL Building, Blue Area, Islamabad. Through discussions with companies that have recently completed the transition to public markets, the session aims to highlight practical aspects of IPOs, corporate governance and capital raising while encouraging greater awareness of Pakistan’s stock market among private businesses.
