The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) Gujranwala, in collaboration with HBL, is set to host an insightful webinar on “Digital Financial Empowerment of Women – A Key Driver of Economic Growth.” Scheduled for September 26, 2025, from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM via Zoom, the session will explore how enhancing women’s access to financial services and improving digital literacy can fuel economic development.
The webinar will feature Muhammad Tahir, Senior Joint Director at SBP BSC Gujranwala, as the keynote speaker. Tahir will provide an overview of SBP initiatives and policies aimed at promoting gender-inclusive financial systems in Pakistan. The session will also include a panel discussion with industry experts sharing practical insights and strategies for advancing women’s economic empowerment through digital finance.
Panelists for the session include Muhammad Rashid Mehmood Cheema, Assistant Director at SBP BSC Gujranwala; Palwasha Faizan, Head of Business Strategy Mass & Konnect at HBL; and Quratulain Mirza, an independent researcher associated with UNFPA and STEP. The discussion will be moderated by Mashal Mabood, Manager Sustainability & Initiatives at HBL and SBP Lead Focal Person for the National Financial Literacy Program (NFLP).
