Roshan Digital Accounts Attract $282 Million Inflows In July

Roshan Digital Accounts (RDA) attracted $282 million in inflows during July 2026, bringing total cumulative inflows since the initiative was launched to $13.647 billion. The latest monthly figure represents a decline from the $306 million recorded in June, with July inflows falling by $24 million month-on-month. Despite the slowdown, RDA continued to record significant activity from overseas Pakistanis and remained an important channel for bringing foreign funds into the country through digital banking services.

During July, $193 million from RDA funds was either repatriated or utilized locally, comprising $25 million in repatriated funds and $168 million used within Pakistan. Cumulatively, repatriation and local utilization have reached $10.721 billion, including $2.118 billion repatriated abroad and $8.603 billion utilized locally. This left a net repatriable liability of $2.926 billion, equivalent to around 21.44% of total RDA inflows.

The remaining RDA funds continue to be held across different investment and account categories. Conventional Naya Pakistan Certificates accounted for $684 million, while Islamic Naya Pakistan Certificates held $1.316 billion. Equity investments stood at $151 million, balances maintained in accounts amounted to $699 million, and other liabilities accounted for $76 million. The data highlights the continued use of RDA not only for receiving funds but also for investment and financial activity within Pakistan.

RDA also continued to expand its customer base during the month, with 10,589 new accounts opened in July, taking the total number of accounts to 956,790. July recorded the highest monthly account openings since October, indicating continued interest in the digital banking channel among overseas Pakistanis. The highest monthly RDA inflow so far was recorded in April 2026, when the accounts received $321 million.

The latest figures underline the continued role of Roshan Digital Accounts in Pakistan’s banking and remittance ecosystem, providing overseas Pakistanis with digital channels to send funds, maintain accounts, invest in government-backed instruments and participate in the country’s financial markets. Although July inflows were lower than the previous month, cumulative receipts and the growing number of account holders demonstrate the continued significance of the initiative.
