Raqami Islamic Digital Bank Offers 10 Percent Cashback on K-Electric Bills Through Its Mobile Banking Application

Raqami Islamic Digital Bank has announced a cashback campaign offering customers 10% cashback on eligible K-Electric electricity bill payments made through its mobile application. Under the offer, customers can receive cashback of up to PKR 10,000 per calendar month, providing a financial incentive to use digital banking channels for routine utility payments. The campaign is intended to run during October and November 2026, according to the terms published for the offer. The bank promoted the initiative through its official channels, encouraging customers to pay their electricity bills through the Raqami app and redeem the available cashback. The offer is available to eligible Raqami account holders, including customers with current and savings accounts, and new customers can also participate after opening an account and meeting the campaign requirements. The initiative places everyday bill payments at the centre of the bank’s digital engagement strategy, using a cashback reward to encourage customers to make utility payments through its own banking platform. For customers who regularly pay K-Electric bills, the offer provides an opportunity to receive a portion of eligible payments back, subject to the applicable terms and monthly limit.

Customers can participate by paying an eligible K-Electric bill through the Raqami Islamic Digital Bank mobile application using an eligible Raqami account. The campaign terms do not specify a minimum bill amount, meaning the offer is not restricted to customers with bills above a stated threshold. Cashback is calculated at 10% of the eligible payment, with the total reward limited to PKR 10,000 per calendar month. For example, a qualifying bill payment of PKR 20,000 would generate PKR 2,000 in cashback, while a payment of PKR 160,000 would ordinarily calculate to PKR 16,000 but would be subject to the monthly maximum of PKR 10,000. Customers can make multiple eligible bill payments during the campaign, although the total cashback they receive cannot exceed the monthly cap. This structure allows customers with different bill amounts to participate while setting a clear limit on the reward available within each calendar month. Customers should check the bank’s official campaign terms for any additional eligibility conditions and ensure that their bill payment is completed successfully through the designated application.

The campaign also includes a redemption process that customers need to complete to receive their cashback. After an eligible K-Electric bill payment, the resulting reward appears in the cashback section of the Raqami application under the available and redeemable transactions areas. Customers must select the relevant transaction and use the redemption option to claim the reward. According to the published terms, cashback must be redeemed within three calendar days of the eligible bill payment. Once a customer successfully redeems the amount, it is credited instantly to the customer’s Raqami account. The short redemption window makes it important for customers to check the application after paying their bills rather than assuming the cashback will be credited automatically. Each eligible transaction can be redeemed only once. The terms also state that cancelled, reversed, fraudulent, unauthorised or otherwise ineligible transactions may not qualify for cashback, and rewards already credited in relation to such transactions may be withheld or reversed. Customers should therefore retain their payment confirmation and review the cashback status within the application to ensure they complete the required steps within the specified period.

Raqami’s offer comes as banks and payment providers in Pakistan use digital incentives to encourage customers to shift routine transactions from cash-based or manual channels to mobile applications. Utility bill payments are a recurring financial activity for households, making them a practical use case for digital banking services. Cashback campaigns can encourage customers to become more familiar with app-based payments while giving banks additional opportunities to engage users through their digital platforms. For Raqami, the initiative connects its Islamic digital banking services with an everyday expense that customers already need to manage, while the monthly reward limit establishes a defined ceiling for the promotion. The broader impact will depend on customer participation, the ease of completing payments and the bank’s ability to deliver a reliable redemption experience. Customers should review the full campaign terms before participating, particularly the October-November campaign period, the PKR 10,000 monthly cap and the requirement to redeem cashback within three calendar days. The offer adds another example of how financial institutions are using digital payment rewards to encourage adoption of mobile banking and make routine transactions more rewarding for customers.
