Paysys Labs and Bank Makramah Collaborate to Deploy SWIFT CBPR+ Compliant OpenConnect Middleware

Paysys Labs has announced a strategic partnership with Bank Makramah Limited (BML) to deploy its OpenConnect middleware solution, a SWIFT CBPR+ compliant technology that empowers financial institutions to transition seamlessly to the latest global messaging standards.

Through this collaboration, Bank Makramah will now be able to support both MT and ISO 20022 CBPR+ message formats, ensuring compliance with SWIFT’s evolving international frameworks. OpenConnect’s robust infrastructure will enable secure, scalable, and future-ready connectivity across the global financial network, aligning with international best practices in payment interoperability and standardization.

The partnership marks a major step toward modernizing financial communications in Pakistan, helping institutions adopt ISO 20022 standards that improve data quality, transparency, and operational efficiency in cross-border payments.

A spokesperson from Paysys Labs emphasized that this collaboration underscores a shared vision for digital transformation, operational excellence, and standardization across the country’s financial ecosystem.

By implementing OpenConnect, Bank Makramah Ltd is set to enhance its transaction processing capabilities, streamline international payment operations, and improve customer experience, paving the way for a more connected and innovative banking landscape.

This milestone reinforces Paysys Labs’ position as a trusted technology partner for digital payment infrastructure and SWIFT integration across Pakistan’s rapidly evolving fintech sector.
