The National Institute of Banking and Finance Pakistan (NIBAF Pakistan) conducted a two-day hands-on executive training workshop titled “Data Analytics and AI for Professionals” at its Karachi Campus on October 8 and 9, 2026. The specialised programme brought together officers from the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP), commercial banks, and Pakistan Security Printing Corporation (PSPC). Facilitated by Mr. Irfan Bakaly, the workshop focused on practical approaches to using data analytics and artificial intelligence tools in professional environments. The programme aimed to introduce participants to modern analytical methods and demonstrate how these technologies can support workplace processes and decision-making across financial institutions and other key organisations.
The training focused on applying AI and data analytics to workflow automation and strategic decision-making. Participants explored practical methodologies for using modern AI analytics tools to improve the handling of professional tasks and support more informed decisions. Data analytics enables organisations to examine information, identify patterns, and generate insights that can assist with operational planning and business performance. Meanwhile, AI-based tools can help automate repetitive activities and support professionals in processing information more efficiently. By concentrating on hands-on learning, the workshop provided participants with an opportunity to engage with these technologies and consider their potential applications within their respective organisations.
The participation of officers from SBP, commercial banks, and PSPC highlighted the programme’s relevance to Pakistan’s financial sector and national institutions. As organisations increasingly work with large volumes of data, analytical capabilities and familiarity with AI tools are becoming important areas of professional development. These technologies can support business intelligence, operational analysis, and decision-making when applied appropriately. Training initiatives focused on practical skills can help professionals understand how emerging tools fit into existing workflows and identify areas where automation and data-driven methods may be useful. However, NIBAF Pakistan did not disclose specific workshop outcomes, participant numbers, or measurable improvements achieved through the training.
NIBAF Pakistan stated that it remains committed to advancing digital capabilities and supporting technology-led transformation across the financial sector and key national institutions. The Karachi workshop reflects this focus by bringing data analytics and AI into executive education for professionals working in banking and related organisations. Through specialised training programmes, the institute continues to address the importance of developing skills relevant to changing workplace requirements. The two-day session provided a platform for participants to explore practical AI applications and analytical approaches that may support their professional responsibilities, while reinforcing the growing relevance of digital capabilities across Pakistan’s financial services industry.
