MCB Bank Limited has partnered with TrendAI to enhance cybersecurity across its digital banking ecosystem as financial institutions continue to expand technology-driven services. The collaboration involves the deployment of advanced cybersecurity solutions with implementation support from system integrator TechnoBIZ. According to the announcement, the initiative is aimed at improving protection for MCB Bank’s information assets and customer data while enhancing the bank’s ability to identify and respond to cyber threats. The collaboration brings together MCB Bank’s banking and cybersecurity capabilities, TrendAI’s AI-powered security technologies and TechnoBIZ’s implementation expertise. MCB Bank said the initiative forms part of its focus on developing a secure digital banking environment as the use of digital financial services continues to grow.
The cybersecurity initiative is focused on moving security operations toward earlier threat detection, greater visibility and proactive protection. Suman Siddiqui, Chief Information Security Officer at MCB Bank, said cybersecurity has become an increasingly important component of the bank’s digital transformation efforts. The bank’s latest collaboration is intended to help security teams identify potential risks earlier while protecting critical information and customer-related data. This is particularly relevant for banks as their digital channels handle account information, transactions and other sensitive financial data. MCB Bank already maintains several security and compliance systems across its operations, including automated transaction monitoring, customer screening and payment screening processes. Its security operations also cover areas such as network access, databases, ATMs, point-of-sale systems and other critical infrastructure.
TrendAI, the AI security business of Trend Micro, is providing the cybersecurity technology for the collaboration, while TechnoBIZ is supporting its implementation. TrendAI offers enterprise security capabilities designed to address risks associated with artificial intelligence and other technology environments. The company says its security operations cover organizations across multiple industries and countries, with its technology focused on protecting enterprise systems and supporting secure adoption of AI. For MCB Bank, the collaboration provides access to security technologies designed to help analyze threats and improve the bank’s overall cyber resilience. The involvement of TechnoBIZ adds an implementation layer between the technology provider and the bank, supporting the deployment of the security solutions within MCB Bank’s digital environment.
The partnership comes as cybersecurity becomes increasingly important to Pakistan’s banking sector alongside the expansion of digital banking, online payments and technology-based financial services. MCB Bank has previously invested in cybersecurity infrastructure, including endpoint protection, privileged access management, network access controls and security testing, while also using artificial intelligence and behavioral analytics in areas such as credit scoring. The bank has also maintained customer-awareness initiatives aimed at helping consumers recognize digital fraud and protect sensitive banking information such as PINs, CVVs and OTPs. The latest collaboration with TrendAI and TechnoBIZ adds another layer to these efforts by focusing on advanced cybersecurity capabilities for the bank’s digital ecosystem. While the announcement does not disclose the financial value or implementation timeline of the collaboration, it establishes a technology partnership focused on protecting digital banking infrastructure, information assets and customer data as MCB Bank continues to expand its technology-led financial services.
