KP Government Launches Ehsaas Fuel Support Program via Dastak App

The Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has officially unveiled the Ehsaas Fuel Support Program, a digital-led initiative designed to provide direct financial cushions to motorcycle and scooter owners across the province. This move comes as a critical response to the escalating global energy prices that have disproportionately affected low-income commuters and daily wage earners. By leveraging mobile technology and existing digital databases, the provincial administration aims to streamline the distribution of subsidies while ensuring that every rupee of taxpayer money is accounted for through a transparent, verifiable process.

Under the specific guidelines of the program, eligible beneficiaries are set to receive a monthly fuel subsidy of Rs2,000. This targeted financial assistance is intended to ease the burden of daily commuting costs for thousands of households. However, the provincial government has maintained a strict stance on documentation and legal compliance to prevent fraudulent claims. Authorities have emphasized that only vehicles registered in the applicant’s name with a fully completed ownership transfer process will qualify for the monthly stipend. Any motorcycle or scooter that remains unregistered or is currently registered under another person’s name will be automatically disqualified from the system.

To facilitate a seamless application experience, the government has integrated the registration process into the Dastak App, which is now available for download on both the Google Play Store and Apple App Store. This mobile-first approach allows citizens to apply from the comfort of their homes, reducing the need for physical visits to government offices. After creating a secure account, users are required to submit their personal identification along with comprehensive vehicle details. The digital application requires a copy of the applicant’s CNIC, the vehicle registration book or smart card, and a clear photograph of the vehicle to ensure authenticity.

The verification framework for the Ehsaas Fuel Support Program is multi-layered to maintain high standards of integrity. Once an application is submitted via the app, the initial verification is conducted through e-Sahulat centers. Following this, a detailed technical review is performed by the Excise and Taxation Office to cross-match the provided data with provincial records. In cases where ownership has recently changed, the system requires digital verification from both the buyer and the seller. Applicants are kept informed of their status through automated notifications, receiving alerts once their file has been officially approved or rejected by the department.

The registration window for this landmark relief program officially opened on April 6, 2026. This initiative is part of a broader provincial strategy to utilize ICT tools for social welfare and economic stability. By linking financial aid directly to verified vehicle assets and digital identities, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is setting a precedent for how provincial governments can manage large-scale subsidy programs with minimal leakage. As the program rolls out, the government expects a significant surge in ownership transfers, as citizens move to formalize their records to avail themselves of the monthly fuel support, ultimately leading to a more documented and regulated transport sector.
