Karandaaz Announces Fintech Disrupt Challenge: Startups Can Win $100,000

Karandaaz Pakistan is working in collaboration with Institute of Business Administration Karachi (IBA), IBA’s project AMAN-CED a center for Entrepreneurial Development has announced Fintech Disrupt Challenge 2017. This programme will give fintech startups in Pakistan a chance to exhibit their ideas and win $100,000 in funding.

This annual competition invites the people across the country with most innovative ideas in the financial technology sector, aiming at highly potential financial technology solutions in digital payments, e-commerce, financial technology and financial communication solutions in order to enable greater financial growth.

Rehan Akhtar, Director Digital Financial Services at Karandaaz, said,

“We are happy to announce the 2nd round of our FinTech Disrupt Challenge collaboratively with IBA’s AMAN CED as our partner. We encourage young FinTech start-ups with limited financial assets from across Pakistan to apply and showcase their innovative ideas with potential to revolutionize the country’s financial infrastructure. Solutions that helps to women’s financial inclusion are highly encouraged for the FDC 2017”

Startups from the five mentioned areas above can pitch their ideas, there are 2 grants of up to $100,000 and 5 grants of up to $20,000 will be distributed to the startups with high growth potential and innovative financial technology solutions.

Applications for FDC 2017 can be submitted online latest by 9th of May, 2017. Candidates will be shortlisted after the closing date, selected applicants will start pitching their ideas on 20th May, 2017 when the competition will start.
